As others have said, this is an admirable, affordable basic security camera. But we all know the real test of a product is the company behind it. If you have a question, how responsive and helpful is that company? Sharx Security wrote the book on customer service, as far as I'm concerned! I contacted Sharx via e-mail -- late on a Saturday night, if you can believe it -- and had a personal (not auto) reply within a few minutes! It took several e-mails to resolve my question, and each reply from Sharx was timely and thoughtful. I purchased this unit because of the reviews that were given. Evidently I was sent a defective unit because I kept loosing the signal to the receiver regardless of where I placed the device. When It did work it had an excellent picture. I just wish it was more reliable.

I have to rate this camera as an okay value. The good news is its easy to set up and use, and worked as advertised out of the box. The bad news: the picture washes out in direct sunlight and the colors also tend to wash out badly unless the lighting is just right. I also wish the cord was a lot longer, especially for the wall plug. That said I'm not unhappy with this purchase, it does what it is supposed to do at a good price once you get it all set-up and adjusted. For comparison I would say the picture is not as good as my hi-8 video camera, but still pretty good once adjusted, although pretty awful if in less than ideal conditions. Also doesn't work at all at night. Picture would make a pretty good daylight security camera. The mic works but tends to crack if sounds are too loud etc. overall an okay ... Read More

These cameras will not reach 5 ft with a clear picture. The worst thing i have ever bought on Amazon. DO NOT BUY THESE!

I have two now and another on order. These are great little cameras for indoors, and out. They do say water resistant, but I am going to fabricate an enclosure to keep the sprinklers off. They can be hidden from view. I put one in a window looking out. Another is outside looking down the driveway. Mounting tip: use the screws provided and a 4-12" piece of 2x4. Very portableand concealable! Good color picture. NOT day or night, no infrared LEDs. But overall picture, in daylight color runs circles around Swann Bulldog (and cost 50% less). I am going to use with street lamps & security type lights. Does have audio, but I have not used that. For what it is, it is very cost effective.
