As others have said, this is an admirable, affordable basic security camera. But we all know the real test of a product is the company behind it. If you have a question, how responsive and helpful is that company? Sharx Security wrote the book on customer service, as far as I'm concerned! I contacted Sharx via e-mail -- late on a Saturday night, if you can believe it -- and had a personal (not auto) reply within a few minutes! It took several e-mails to resolve my question, and each reply from Sharx was timely and thoughtful. I purchased this unit because of the reviews that were given. Evidently I was sent a defective unit because I kept loosing the signal to the receiver regardless of where I placed the device. When It did work it had an excellent picture. I just wish it was more reliable.

I have two now and another on order. These are great little cameras for indoors, and out. They do say water resistant, but I am going to fabricate an enclosure to keep the sprinklers off. They can be hidden from view. I put one in a window looking out. Another is outside looking down the driveway. Mounting tip: use the screws provided and a 4-12" piece of 2x4. Very portableand concealable! Good color picture. NOT day or night, no infrared LEDs. But overall picture, in daylight color runs circles around Swann Bulldog (and cost 50% less). Can see farther and in color longer at night than the cameras I have from other vendors. Also, the short cable is perfect for installations where you want to swap out a camera. It's not a .1 lux camera as Amazon states. Lorex says it's a 1 lux camera, but good lux seeing anything when it's that dark. Used indoors or in daylight it does a very good job and it's nice and small so you can put it pretty much anywhere.

I have owned many IR Color Cameras over the last few years. I live in an area of some extreme weather conditions and most cameras have failed within a short persiod of time. When I pulled this camera from the box I knew it was different, it has a solid build and professional weatherproofing. The camera mount is also very heavy duty and easy to work with. The picture is outstanding both day and night. Now I only hope it will stand the test of time and elements. Stay tuned.

I bought two sharx wireless cameras in October and their performance are very poor compared to the Panasonic wireless network camera BL-131A ( i have 2). Overall, the sharx cameras have limited range (less than 10 feet from the reciever) and poor performance for outdoor use, image quality very very poor. If you don't believe me, then go ahead and buy one. You will definitely regret it afterward. The two sharx cameras i had were disposed last week when the trash man came to collect the weekly garbage. Instead i bought 3 more Panasonic wireless BL-131A network cameras to replace the sharx cameras. Panasonic wireless network cameras are one of the best cameras in the market.
