If you need Polaroid film, this is a good buy but beware, you don't get the platinum film, just regular 600. The photo is misleading.

Im not a professional photographer by any means, but I bought this camera set thinking it would be a fun little addition to a road trip I had planned. I read on the whole lomography thing.. but when the camera came I was a little dissapointed for the price of $60.00. It seems like all you really need is THE CAMERA, THE ELECTRICAL TAPE, THE FILM. Everything else they charge you for is not necessary. It certainly was fun to take the pictures, but I have yet to develop the film, not a lot of places near my home deal with that particular kind of film. The whole taping process of the camera is a drag as well. I honestly don't even know if I'll ever use it again. So it was pretty much a $60.00 one time toy.Maybe I'll be more excited when I actually develop the film.. ? :)

I ORDERED THIS FILM AND IT WAS NEVER DELIVERED, WHEN I TRIED TO TRACK IT THEY CANCELLED THE ORDER AND REFUNDED MY PURCHASE PRICE BUT KEPT THE SHIPPING AND HANDELING FEE, I AM STILL TRYING TO GET THE FULL REFUND NOT HAPPYH IN CALIFORNIA

The Holga is a medium format camera taking size 120 film. I has a single plastic lens and a plastic body with a shutter that is controlled by a single spring. It sounds like a piece of crap and it is. But you will be astonished that it will make such interesting photos and how creative you can be with it. Forget all you know about the technical side of photography when it come to the Holga. Just shoot and wind and be surprised by the results.

So far this camera has outstripped my talents, however I am learning more each day I use it. This camera has many capabilities I have yet to experiment with, however it is also relatively easy to use for general picture taking for an the inexperienced. What I am saying is if you are new but serious about learning SLR photography this camera is for you. It will take you from the simpilist full auto point and shoot to features only a pro would use. Bravo Nikon!!

They've stopped making polaroid film, and the expected final availability (according to polaroid's web site) is the first quarter 2009. At this point in time, I'd think the main interest would be in artistic work with the film. Check the expiration dates, and get some before the era comes to a complete close.
