These people have the best service that I've encountered in years. I bought this webcam to use with Weather Underground. The instructions to set it up were a little bit over my head. I called them and within just a few minutes I was talking to someone in Virginia who was easy to understand. They guided me through as far as I could go at that point. A second call got me completely set up. At about six months I had a viewing problem and the red light on the unit was flashing. I was instructed to send it to their service center. I sent it expecting it back in about a month. I received it back the following Friday (a week later) and it is working fine. In my opinion they have a fine product and excellent service. I would never hesitate about buying another one of their products.

Tried cheaper remotes that blew on anything other than a lamp. This one takes the start up jolt from a small wall air conditioner.

I have been experimenting with a few low-end security cameras. This is the most expensive camera I have tried, and also the best. It has a very sharp image during the day, and is also surprisingly sharp at night. At night it suffers some from glare on the lens caused by the numerous infrared LEDs. But still, the LEDs provide a lot of illumination which overall is a good thing. This camera is definitely a step up from the SVAT CV31 Hi-Res Outdoor CCD camera. It is both significantly sharper during the day, and significantly brighter at night. Also, it does not suffer from the pinkish cast I sometimes see in the SVAT image during the day. I have used this imitation security camera for over three months now and overall I am pleased with it. I mounted mine overlooking my garage and it has held up very well. Although the unit is constructed of both plastic and aluminum it appears to hold up to the elements. The blinking LED is still working using the same batteries. The unit does look real and everybody that sees it assumes it is a real surveillance camera. The reason I gave it (4) stars is because the pivot bolt is made of plastic and in time, if the camera position is moved too much, that pivot bolt will either break or not secure the camera at the right angle. This 100 foot cable is extremely thin and cheap. I bought 3 of these extensions to work with the Q-See-QSD6204-250 and 3 Q-See QSC48030 High Resolution Weatherproof CCD Camera. Out of the box 1 of the 3 100 foot cables were bad and as of the date of typing this review, 2 of the 3 60 foot cables that came with the cameras were bad. The following is a quote from my review of the cameras, but because the cables are the same, and I had the same problems with both sizes, it is necessary to include it. [To say they were bad doesn't explain fully what you as a consumer will face when/if you purchase this equipment. The cables (60 foot & 100 foot) are very thin, slightly thicker then a toothpick. Ok, I just picked this up recently from amazon and used it with a KPC-EX230HL camera and it works really well. Both that camera and this DVR card are better than expected. Yes, the DVR software is a bit 'basic', but not buggy ... and works out of the box and does all that is needed. It would be nice if the motion sensing logic was adjustable, but it works well and using the mpeg4 format ... the size of the recorded videos are very small ... so it record a lot a not consume so much hard disk. I'm running on only 20GB of space (older computer), but it seems like plenty. This is a lot of capability for the money, runs on slower computers and doesn't seem to load the system down much if at all. Just remember the 30fps is shared between all cameras, so if you want 30fps for all cameras, get one of these cards 'per camera'. ... Read More

I bought this for use as a remote on/off switch for a slot car track. I have the power supply plugged into a darkroom timer, and then plugged into the switch. Works great, good quality, even comes with an extra battery. Simple operation.

They are not high end units but are perfect for home and small business. The DVR does generate ALOT of heat so needs good air circulation. The night vision is ok, 10 foot max without some other sort of ambient lighting but the cameras are good in low light so just a regular porchlight is plenty to light most of a yard and keep the camera from going to B/W mode.
