As an owner of 3 Goldens we often find hairballs floating about the house. Both my wife and I work at the University so we regularly show up to work with dog hair stuck on our clothes and having our students point it out to us. We've used many grooming tools that have failed to remove the dead fur from our pets until we purchased the Furminator. I was quite amazed that the first time we used it we got almost a full garbage bag of fur from our three dogs that I know would have ended up turning into tumble weed in our home or being stuck onto our clothing. All this thing is is a poorly made Dremel or Rotary Tool. Long and short, my Cuz bought one and I witnessed him tormenting his pooch with this thing.He gave up after 10 minutes of watching and listening to his Lab shivering and growling and this thing only removed a couple of 1/16th's from one nail in that ten minutes.It is to underpowered to be of any real use. Can I just recommend the easy and professional way. Get a good Canine Nail trimmer, one made in the USA or Germany and then pick up a inexpensive rotary tool with a small drum sander tip . Cut the bulk of the nail off with the mechanical trimmer and then simply use the rotary tool to round and smooth the nails.I have English Bulldogs and have been using this system for ever. I just received this brush the other day and I gotta say: I love it! It worked fabulously. I let the weight of the brush do all the work, just run the brush through the coat. I got enough fur to make a cat toy. At least that's what my cat thought it was! Both of my cats loved the brushing, purred and everything. Immensely happy with this purchase.

The tool does exactly as it says. But you must work with your dog alot to get them use to the noise and feel of the grinder. I massaged my dog's feet everyday for a week before the oster arrrived. This helped for my dog to get use to my touch and the practice that I wasn't going to hurt him. Then once the oster arrived I massaged his feet with the oster OFF. Then for the following week I massaged his feet with the oster turned on at different levels, but I didn't groom his nails. Then finally about 2 weeks ago I was able to grind his nails with ease. Again, this is a great tool for grinding nails, however you have to work with your dog and have a great deal of patience.

There are a few problems with this item. The sandpaper bands slips down while trying to use it on the pet's nail. Even while trying to grind the nail for half a second, the motor will slow down and the band will slip off. I just gave up using it and feel like it was money wasted. I'm a very experienced dog owner and am good at using tools -- I'm going back to the Dremel.

Do not order from Discount Pet Supply. They sent the wrong product. I want them to pay the return shipping due to the fact that they sent the wrong product. I will never order from them again! I wish I had know that they can not read, they sent me the shampoo, I ordered the Waterless shampoo. There customer service is terrible. I give them 0 stars.

I never received this item because I ordered direct from the "As Seen on TV" website. After ordering, I discovered that the shipping charges were $15.00 and tried to cancel. I was never able to get a live person on the phone and the website does not have any other way to contact them--no email contact. Then a few days later, we received a phone call from someone that got our number from "As Seen on TV" trying to sell us earrings. Now it has been 13 days and we have not heard from them or received the item. We called again and were not able to speak to a person. Called again and finally spoke with someone. The order has still not been shipped and we cancelled it. The moral of the story--buy only through Amazon and good luck if you buy from this "As Seen on TV" company. This is the second best thing I have ever bought for my dogs. My 40 lbs is deathly afraid of the hose, but he will sit while I bath him with this. It seems some people expect this to lather like you were washing your hair. NO, it dispense soap with the water, washing against the hair. Washing and rinsing are very easy, a flick of the button. I have good water pressure at my house, so this is a great, and easy way to wash your dogs.

The shampoo lathers well and only a small amount is required. I have a large dog and it is good when the time needed to clean him is shortened because a product works well.
