My very finicky cat was at the point where he'd only eat a single flavor of canned cat food (Friskies). I was able to switch him over to Pet Promise and he enjoys all three flavors. I occasionally feed him the Pet Promise dry food but his digestion's better on canned food. I feed wet exclusively, so do not store the canned food in the fridge for more than a day. The few times that it's been in the fridge for a couple days, though, it came out just fine so I haven't had the same issues as another reviewer had with spoilage. Also, as the other reviewers have said, the quality of the ingredients makes the food smell much better than the mainstream brands. I'm sure all cat owners have the same problem, how to find a cat food their cats like, and that answers all of their cat's health issues. My two cats love Science Diet Oral Care, but they do not like the Science Diet Hairball Management or any of the Science Diet Regular Care Dry Food. I do not buy any canned food for my cats because of my older cat's past dental problems.

Merrick has a solid reputation for making holistic all natural canned foods that dogs, especially my dog, can't resist. My dog absolutely loves this product and can't get enough. The product is packaged in a sturdy plastic bag with a zip top, so the food stays fresh. When you open the bag, it smells like food, not bland cornmeal. Plus, there are little bits of freeze dried potato, chicken and vegetables mixed in! Although pricey, this food is worth it for anyone concerned about the quality of commercial dog food or if they have a dog with sensitivity to preservatives and additives (like mine!). *Note: Merrick was NOT one of the brands involved with the recall. Another good reason to buy it!*

We bought a small bag of Canidae to give it a try, as we are always trying new foods for our 3 dogs. I normally serve 2 kinds of food for dinner and whenever we put Canidae in the dish, the dogs would always eat the other food first. I'm glad I only bought a small bag. For the price, the food should be more appealing. But our dogs just didn't like it and we were glad when it was all gone. I will never buy again!
