I originally bought this bowl to use while crate training my dogs. It was great, even if they tipped them over little or no water would come out. I washed them in the dishwasher all the time and never had an issue. They were used to travel in the car with as well, with very little problems. One bowl got lost during a trip and my cat chewed the lid of the other, so it is time to order again. I didn't even look at another type of bowl, this one worked so well the first time.

I had purchased the same type of bracket for my deck at Lowe's. THen they stopped carrying it and I needed two more. I use them to hang Boston Ferns from my deck. This does the trick, it's identical to the ones I had purchased at Lowe's. I've had the Lowe's ones for 4 years and no rust. These do the trick

My cat needed a waterer, especially cause she kept tipping over/playing in her water bowl. She never spills water/plays with her water with this waterer. I like this unit, cause all I need to do is drain water out of it every 5 days or so. She'll drop her food in her water, leave it there, and her water will get all 'yucky'. In addition, since I filled the item when I got it several weeks ago, I haven't had to re-fill it. So convenient!

The bowl definitely works. The dog eats his food much more slowly. The cons of this product are that it is so light weight plastic that it slides too much. To solve the problem, I went to a discount store and bought a cheap metal bowl and took the rubber ring off of the base and put it on this bowl. That helps a lot. The second con is the price. I think the price is outrageous for a piece of molded plastic.

Of all the gadgets we've gotten for our cats over the years (electronic feeder, self-cleaning litter box, battery operated toys) this one has withstood the test of time. Both of our tabbies love it. The first few days they were afraid of it, but they got used to it. We add water every few days to avoid the gurgling noise it makes when water is running low (we do not have the "reservoir"). Every once in a while I like to give the motor a rest, so I shut off the fountain. It does not have an on/off button so you have to unplug it. We replace filter every few months (relatively inexpensive purchase). And we clean out the mechanism every couple of weeks with a bottle brush. These are almost as good as everyone says they are! They keep food fresh, do not attract bugs and my siberian husky can not get into them. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because when I stacked them both with 40 lb bags of food inside, the bottom ones lid would not go on. I tried for awhile thinking the product was faulty but when I unstacked them, no problem with the lid. I am sure with less food they would stack just fine! Well worth the price!
