I purchased the Vittles Vault II to neatly store a 40 lb bag of dog food, and it does that perfectly. It is the best. Easily, I am able to put my hand and scoop in the large opening and I can unscrew and replace the top with one hand, since I am normally holding the dog's bowl in the other. I like it so much that I intend to purchase more of this item to store potting soil, peat moss and other large bag items I use to keep my garage neat and tidy.

My first idea of a mat for my puppy bulldog, was one made of fabric, but then I changed my mind because this one is ok. It is made of hard plastic and it looks very resistant. It works fine because the water was spilled over the floor, when my dog used to drink on his water dispenser. I do really recomended this mat. The only bad "thing" was the sticker on it, is too hard to take it off, I mean it!

Don't get me wrong, this is a great product, but as soon as I unpacked it and saw the thin electric cord I knew it was going to be a problem. I attempted to put tape over all exposed cord and tuck away the extra behind the feeder, out of sight. But my food-obsessed rescue cat got impatient with the feeder one day and chewed right through that flimsy cord. I wasn't home when it happened and I think she may have gotten a jolt, but I couldn't detect any injury to her. My one suggestion is that a more heavy duty cord be provided.

I bought 2 of these containers for dog food -- they fit nicely side-by-side in my pantry. They're easy to open and close and although I'm not a big fan of plastic, I'm glad these containers have met some criteria to make them "food grade."

Even after using this dish, my dog still had trouble from eating too fast. I consulted my vet and he suggested I use a dish with a stand that raises the dish off the floor and feed canned food or home-prepared food instead of kibble. I tried that instead of this dish and my dog hasn't had any more problems with eating too fast.

I purchased two of the flexible bags for storing malted barley. Overall, I'd recommend the bags for storing perishable goods. Just don't pick them up by the nylon strap when full. The pros are: 1.) Can hold ~55lbs of uncrushed grain. 2.) Have a sealing lid (o-ring lined). 3.) Durable (canvas with plastic liner). 4.) Flexible (allows for exacuation of emtpy space). The cons are: 1.) Not 100% airtight (the connector ring will slowly leak air if you exert pressure). But, good enough for storing grain. 2.) The plastic connector ring is not strong enough (picking up a 55lb bag will cause the ring to bend).

Unlike other feeders, the opening is large enough to keep food from getting stuck and not coming down. Holds enough food to last for 2 weeks with 3 cats, although we had back up bowls just in case.
