I don't think I would choose this as a permanent guard but we have used it two years in a row for the balcony of our vacation condo (our group has 3 total children) and it works great. It doesn't take too long to tie up and we leave it up all week with no trouble. It's not very visible when used outside.

Purchased this set of steps to help our Scotty dog get up on the footstool that he uses to see outside. He is recovering from nonsurgical treatment for an ACL and this has been a great help to keep him from putting too much pressure on this hind leg. Would recommend this for any small to medium sized dog (or cat) to help them get where they want to be.

I love this gate. It is clean, polished and so much better than using a baby gate to keep the dogs out of rooms I prefer they not go in. This is well worth the money. It opens easy and is very easy to set up and take down.

This may have been a good product, but the boxes arrived destroyed. Absilutely not the carriers fault. Amazon did such bad packing, there was no way it could have survived the trip. And since the delivery box was destroyed, it would cost me more to pay the local pack and ship to return the damaged extension and wait for replacement. Instead, I went to the local PetSmart and bought this product off the shelf from them. Should have done that in the first place and saved myself the hassle. The Amazon extension is headed to the trash.

I have several brand of gates of this sliding variety, and this is the only one where the 2 "sides" come apart from each other entirely. It's as if the metal brackets are not fitted correctly (or not the right size), because depending on how you slide the sides, the 2 pieces come completely off the track. This also happens if someone takes the gate down and stores it on its "side." It works fine and looks fine if you handle with care, but I would not purchase this particular brand again.

This gate was easy to istall and easy to work. I have a two year old daughter and she pushes against it and hangs on it and it does not move. I am able to hold her and open the gate at the same time it just take some getting use to. I love it and I am telling all my friends with young children to get one. If you don't want little dents on your wall then don't buy a pressure monunted gate, as for me the dents are worth it to keep my kids safe.

After a little training the ferrets used the ramp pretty well. They are mostly free range ferrets by day and use the ramp to gain access to their food. It goes really well with the cage with the two levels it is perfect for two ferrets (we may even add a thrid). This product goes well with the cage and is a must have if you allow your ferrets access to a room during the day.

We've been using the gate on our stairway to keep our dogs downstairs for about a month now. It is used frequently and is holding up well. It is a good buy for the price. The only thing that could be better is the ease of opening and closing the gate, but that improvement would probably increase the cost. It isn't difficult to open, just not as easy as opening a door.

Pros: Great weather seal. Easy Install. Less Cleaning. Cons: One dog hesitates going through the double door. I purchased this dog door when I was fixing up my house. It was highly recommended by a friend who was a contractor. Previously, I had modified a Petsafe in-door dog door to go through the wall and was having problems with bees and outside air. This unit did not need any modifications to go through the wall. I did not need to trim the wall hole on the outside or inside. It went in like a dream. The new door has an inside and an outside seal. I do not have air loss when the door is closed. The plastic doors do not show all the dog drool and slobber like the old door.
