I like the idea, but the magnet on this is kinda strong. My cat had to shove his head right up to the plastic and downward to get through the door. Didn't seem to want to do it. Believe me, I tried. Ended up getting the Staywell infrared version, works much better. The tags on that unlock the door from a little farther away.

I bought this for my house cat so that she can enjoy the outdoors in safety. While the kittywalk is a good idea in theory it just didn't work for us. My cat is rather large and strong. She walked into the kitty walk and proceded to figure out a way to escape. She ripped through it and ran off into our backyard in a matter of minutes. I got her back safe and sound, but how she managed to widen the mesh enough to get out I'll never know. Maybe someone else will have better luck.

This is the best gate that we've ever bought. Very solid and easy to build and use. The only problem we had was that we had to order the bigger extension from another company. The stores only carried the small extension.

I just received this gate, and I am very pleased that it is all metal- no plastic hinges or latches that I hear of breaking on many of the other models. I like the fact, too, that Cardinal Gates only makes gates. Seems like the other brands that are cheaply made don't concentrate enough on the construction of theirs. Installation wasn't too bad. It took some time to get everything just right so it latches properly. Pretty simple instructions. Opening is not as easy as other gates, but it is definitely much safer!! The only way I see an accident happening is if you forget to relatch it after going through (doesn't do it automatically) or if you don't mount it properly and it comes out of the wall (don't see that happening.)
