This door seemed great. I had to work with my cat for a while to train him on pushing the plastic flap, but eventually he got it and it was working well. I use it to connect a window on a closed in porch that has his kitty litter in it, to the kitchen. If I keep the kitty litter in the house, the dog will eat it. After he had fully mastered the system, I then went away overnight. When I returned, I found a very traumatized, upset kitty trapped on my back porch. In his travels back and forth, he had loosened the small piece of plastic that locks the flap. He hadn't been able to return back into the house and to his food and water. I promptly broke off the piece of plastic that allows it to lock; it's simply not a safe product with it.

We have a doorway between the front room and kitchen that must be a non-standard width, because the gate alone is a smidge too small, but when we added the extension, the whole unit wouldn't fit in the doorway. It would be better design if there was an overlap of about 1/2" between the two sizes.

This gate fell several times. I ended up sending this gate back after it hurt my daughter's foot. The Evenflo SimpleStep, although an unattractive taupe color, is less expensive and of much better quality.

We tried a bunch of baby gates, and this one was the best for our odd shaped stair well.

This gate works very well at the top of the stairs. Our problem is not with the gate, it's with our stairwell. The top of our stairs is uneven due to the molding on the walls. We had to add wooden shims to make the wall even with the molding in order to install the gate. Once installed, however, the gate is nice and secure. There's no need to spend the extra money on any of the other top of the stair gates. I would definitely recommend this product.

This is the only gate that we could find that was; reasonable priced, could span >70", provided a pass through door, was easily removable, expandable, and will adapt after the children are more mobile (such as gaurding the fireplace. I am especialy impressed with the quality construction and ease of installation. Excellent!!

I purchased this item to keep my furry boys (dogs) from my kitchen. I have a Lab and Border Collie so I purchased the tall gate. The gate works very well. I like the automatic closure - I wish these would have been around when I had small children. The only catch.....my Border Collie found a new way to the kitchen - he jumps on my dining room table and fits through a very small serving window. Now he is able to get to everything - inlcuding items that are on the refrigerator. I moved the gate so it blocks my entry way. This way, I am the only one to greet our visitors. The boys have full access to the kitchen again. I will be purchasing my daughter one of these gates to keep my grandaughter safe from stairs. I HIGHLY recommend this gate. This gate not only looks good but is easy to use and does not damage the walls. Since I am using this at the top of the stairs I wanted something that would be easy and not be a danger for someone to fall down the stairs while trying to open or close- Its so easy to use its easier to open than it is to try to step over.

This ramp is very lightweight and easy to manage. The width is a bit narrow, so larger dogs should be surefooted. There is, however, nothing to clip/secure it to the edge of the vehicle - there are rubber feet, which do a fairly good job of keeping it secure, but with a large older dog, who was not surefooted, and only one person trying to hold it and encourage the dog, we tipped because one leg didn't make it to the ramp(dog is fine). On the second and third trys, we managed fine.
