We've had this gate at the bottom of our stairs for two years. It has rubbed the paint off of the wall but that didnt really bother me (it is tight against the wall). Also, my son got his leg stuck in it last year when trying to climb over it. He was two. He never tried to climb it again. I figured that would have happened with any gate with vertical bars. That said, we love this gate and would buy it again. It cannot be climbed because of the vertical bars. It is easy to open, even when holding a child. Just remember that it can only be used at the bottom of the stairs, as it doesnt screw into the wall.

This product is GREAT, I just wish I had purchased it sooner. When you get it, it may seem like it will curl up on itself, but it just needs to be set up against it's natural curl. I love this product and the convenience. What I found helpful was the instructional video on the website found at (greatwallplaypen) just put the front and back stuff to get to the site. Once you get the hang of using this product you will be bummed you didn't buy it sooner. There are so many uses for it.

We purchased 5 of these 6 months ago for our 5 cats that have 5 special diets. We mounted them on wire sided dog crates with the food in the back to prevent the door for staying unlocked as the pet ate and from searching paws from stealing food. They work great! Now we can go away and leave the automatic feeding bowls to feed meals and not worry that one is eating another's special food. Only problem our fat cat is smart and realized it only takes the cat with the right collar (3 collars available) being near the door to open that door and he gets in to eat thei food. The others though know their food is only in their own crate so don't even try the other doors. So if you try it this way crate train the cat first that dinner is only served in that crate then add the door it works great.

The reason I purchased this was because I am keeping my cousins 2 dogs while he looks for a place to live that he can keep them. He is going through a divorce. I needed something to separate them from my 4 cats. The dogs Hate cats and are very jealous of them. The gate has worked great. The dogs bump their heads against it, push against it but it stays put. If it can keep them under control, a baby would be nothing. Dianne
