The bed has a nice, durable nylon base material. The top plaid material is soft. The bed is easy to clean using a vacuum cleaner. However, the padding is too thin. I had the model smaller than this one, but it got torn apart in a fit of rage by my shephard/lab. When I was looking for a replacement bed, I read a review that said these beds have padding that is too thin, and that two pads for a single bed is needed. That gave me an idea. I bought a new bed, and put the pad from the torn-apart bed into it. I pinned the pads together, and the bed is now really soft and plush. My dog loves it. I was quite skeptical when I saw this at the store, but on a rather impulsive note, I bought it anyway. It was on sale, and I liked the concept, but wasn't sure how my golden would feel about the idea. He LOVES it. Even as just a bed, this is great! He can't really get into it himself, but I helped him, and now he's bundled up on the floor fast asleep. I doubt this is for every dog, but I am very pleased with it! Give it a try, it might just work.

This hammock is way too big for my car- which I wish I knew before purchasing. I could also have used some hints or instructions to install it in a smaller car. Its clearly a well made hammock and I'm sure fits will with larger vehicles.

I purchased this item for my daughter, who lives in Nepal. She wanted a small 12 volt electric blanket to use when seated in her room. I have not tried out the Thermo Pet Throw myself, but have sent it to her. When I hear how it works in her mountain home, I will let you know.

I'm giving this 3 stars because what you see in the photo and what you get are not the same. I ordered the Sherpa for my dog and didn't get it. Okay - there wasn't any price difference so I didn't get upset there so I kept the bed. But - look at the photo. The bed looks plump all around like a donut. The bed I received for my dog is not. It just sort of keels over. No matter what side I flip it on to. Yes, my dog will sleep on it - but I feel the bed is overrated.

The only thing wrong with this product is the velcro is not strong enough to hold the unit on the window sill for more than a day or 2. My cats are the normal 12 to 14 pound variety and they like the padded and heated rest by the window. But I have to figure out a way to beef up the velcro in order to hold on to the sill.
