I ordered this bed and am returning it immediately. What the profile doesn't say about the bed is that you cannot keep the bed plugged in when not in use. Who has time to run around unplugging the thing as your cat hops in and out of it? I bought the K&H heated kitty bed three years ago and it just died, so was hoping for a longer operating bed. But I would rather have a bed that I can keep plugged in (and turns on only when she is in it) than one I have to keep an eye on.

This helps protect the animal from the heat. The snuggle safe heating pad itself is very hot and it would hurt the animal if they had direct contact with it. This cover ensures that they are not hurt. It isn't necessary to buy it really, you could just fold a blanket around it.

My cats love this kitty bed. I often find two of them squished into it which is no easy task since each cat weighs about 12 pounds. They also have a K&H thermo kitty cabin but they prefer this bed; it is in constant use. The heat is at a low temperature safe for cats. Although the cover is easily removable for washing, I sometimes place a light baby blanket in it so cleaning is even simpler.

This handy little disc is so much less mess than a hot water bottle, holds heat longer, and never seems to wear out. I bought one for my aging dog but ended up using it to warm up my own bed before I climb in. I'm getting two more now for gifts.

This pad is a perfect fit for our big Lab's crate. It is light enough that he can push it to the side when he wants to lay on the cool pan, and fits in my washer with no problem. It's been washed at least 30 times and has not shrunk.

Our cats love the bed warmer! It's not real large, but once they settle into their bed with the warmer on, they won't come out, even for dinner! It's winter in Colorado, and they think this is even better than a sunny spot in front of a window.

These are not high quality beds, but more a crate liner, which is what I purchased it for. My dog chews up everything, and these are no different. On the plus side, they were pretty cheap, but once she finishes destroying these I will look for something else.

This product was a great investment. I have a small yorkie and she loves having these steps to climb into and out of bed with me! They are sturdy, well made and totally worth the purchase.

I have a mini dachshund and 3 cats. I have found all of them using this bed. The cats don't seem to burrow, but of course, any dachshund lover KNOWS that their baby will burrow. So, I bought this primarily for my dachshund. GREAT choice! She is able to cover herself to the degree she wishes, from nothing to complete coverage. I could post a pic, but it would look just like the one posted by another dachshund owner. :-) Apart from keeping my baby warm, this bed serves a variety of functions. Great car seat: it keeps her warm, and if she's not feeling cold, elevates her enough to see out the windows without standing up. I made my own outdoor bed much like the Coolaroo. I made the covers for the beds from lawn furniture fabric which matched our furniture at the time. The frames are easily and inexpensively made using simple PVC tubing readily available at any Lowes or Home Depot along with the corner/leg pieces which are used to make undergound sprinkler systems and other things. Just cut the PVC to the needed lengths with a hacksaw and decide the height you want and cut the leg pieces. Takes all of ten minutes to make a frame once you have your measurements. That said, our covers were finally wearing out and I opted to go with the Coolaroo covers. Well made and durable fabric with good stitching. Should last for several years.
