I bought this aquarium for my son for his birthday last summer and thought it was great... that is until it started leaking about 4 months after I bought it. Giving the benefit of the doubt, and thinking the leak was a QA issue rather than a design issue, I managed to exchange it for the exact same model. Well it's been 4 months since I got the new one, and this morning what did I notice? Yup, a leak. The tank was full yesterday and this morning it's 2/3's full, with a pool of water on the table that holds it. Luckily, no damage was done to the floor either time. I understand there are sometimes manufacturing issues with a product now and then, but when the same leak occurs in the same product after the same length of time, well then, it's just a cruddy product. This 5 gal mini bow kit is super! Bought it for my granddaughters 2 gold fish!! Its a great space saver and just the right size for her two fish! She loves it!! Easy to keep clean and a pleasure for the kids to watch! Even Mom loves it!!!

The top/lid for this tank just sits on top, but the filter that comes with this clips over the back edge of the tank (hangs inside the tank) and even at it's lowest setting still sticks up too high so the lid sits up on it, which is right in the water stream going over the filter and then the back edge of the lid and top of filter get moldy. Not to mention that the lid's lamp has never worked even though the bulb is good (we tested it) and I think it could have something to do with the huge amount of condensation that collects up there all over everything. Also, the tiny flap that you are supposed to use to put food in the tank through is very small so generally catches some of the food. The shape of the tank is pretty, and the colors are nice for kids, but it's frustrating that the parts don't fit ... Read More

I have limited apartment space and started my betta hobby with these. These are not for goldfish as it's only .5 of a gallon, not the 10 gallons that goldfish require. I am glad I have these, change the water every other day to keep the betta healthy and to prevent waste buildup. You do need small ornamentation. I haven't use this for anything that one Betta.
