If you have a cat that likes to scratch at her litter a lot, and tends to spread it outside of the litter box, then this is a great solution. But the product is exactly what it appears: a plastic storage bin with a hole cut in the lid. You can easily make one yourself for much, much cheaper. If I had not been working overseas at the time of my purchase, trying to help my wife out back home when she was complaining about the bathroom habits of our cat, I would have made one myself. So I will consider the premium I paid as a gratuity for the inventor, because I am not sure I would have thought of this on my own.

Sifters is the only way to go. I first saw similar sifters at Petsmart, but they were double the price - they also discontinued selling them, so I'm very glad I found this on Amazon. I typically use 2 sheets each time and still find it to be a good value BUT it would be nice if the sifting holes were made a bit smaller.

Having a multicat houeshold means you either are going to stay on top of the litter boxes, or your house is going to smell like a litter box. I have liked these liners the best because they come in a variety of sizes, and they are sturdy. I have three cats, and I have to change the box several times a week. I have went through a variety of different types of cat litter, and honestly found that when you use a good quality liner, you can use a less expensive litter. I liked that these are ample size, and and you don't have to worry about getting your hands dirty, or dirty litter spilling out everywhere. They leave the litter liners alone, and all I have to worry about is spillage and tearing.

I purchased the Littermaid Mega, the cabinet and the liner refills about 1.5 years ago from debnroo. What a great system! The cabinet has an opening with a chute that allows the Littermaid to rake the waste into the plastic bag. If I am gone for a week, this is no problem. I use some baking soda or a litter deodorizer to keep the odor down and it works just fine. When it's time for me to change the bag, I simply pull out more liner, cut it, knot the top of the full bag and knot the bottom of the new empty liner. I close the cabinet door and nobody sees the poopie bag but me. They will have a customer for life!
