Before I decided to go back to college I had many beautiful aquariums, including a 55gal planted tank that I loved. Unfortunately, now, I simply don't have the time to maintain them (and the electricity it took to run them was causing headaches when I got the bills, too) This tank is perfect for me now. It's easy to maintain, but it filters and operates just like a larger aquarium (as opposed to those old school "small aquarium" filters that were a complete joke). I've always liked a tank more on the "overstocked" side, so I'll have to be careful to keep myself in check with this one because it's so small. (Exceeding capacity in a tank this small would not be a good idea at all.) All-in-all it really is very nice looking and convenient.

i purchased the baby biorb to upgrade from my plain ole fishbowl. I did check out all the reviews and i bought it despite the the amount of bad reviews! It took me 10 minutes to set it up,and it is beautiful..despite the advice that all places give you ,i have never used chemicals in my water. I owned a 155 gal tank for 10 years and never used a single chemical!,and never lost a fish either! ..so there are no chemicals in the biorb and my 2 goldfish are swimming happily. The water is clear,and i do a partial water change once ev 2 weeks,no big deal at all..i find this very easy to care for,and would highly suggest buying it!

I wrote this in response to someone's comment on this tank, and then decided to make it into a full review, since gosh darn it, I just like this tank! Here is a copy of what I wrote before: I've had this model in constant use for about six years now. The only change I made to the basic hardware was to add a mini heater. I do make use of a biological primer for the medium when I feel the need to do a complete re-do of the tank. The only problems I have had with mass fish die-offs occurred when I wasn't careful about segregating new fish from the rest of my "school". I have been keeping fish on and off for several years now and I have to say I love this tank. I knew it was 9 gallons but for some reason I was surprised by the size of it when I took it out. The filtration system is really great and I am happy the instructions talk about SLOWLY putting fish into the tank. When I first kept fish I wasnt aware of the nitrate rise when you first introduce them to the tank..so its nice to see they bring this to light. Overall I really enjoy this tank. I do not have the stand for it, mine is just on my table. I have small-ish fish in mine, tetras and danios, so I can fit a good shoal of them with my plants.
