For dogs that like to burrow, this is the answer! My Min Pin loves this bed and it works for all weather situations; when it's warm she lays on top, when it's cold she burrows in under the cover that folds down over her like a blanket. This bed works better than the ones with the flexible pole that keeps the cover open because it allows true "burrowing dogs" to completely disappear from sight if they want to. I've washed the zippered cover (and even the stuffing sack) in my washing machine and then thrown both pieces in my dryer and they come out beautifully.

Our dog chewed the knit fabric and had to have surgery to remove it from his stomach and intestines! He was repeatedly throwing up blood so our vet took an x-ray, the fabric showed up as a compact blob in his stomach. After exploratory surgery our vet removed the mass of fibers from his stomach and the fibers had wound around his intestines. It cost us almost $1,000.00! Be very careful if your dog is a chewer or he could become very ill or DIE! We have trained and bred dogs for over 40 years and want our dogs to be comfortable but this is a potential DISASTER to YOUR DOG!.

I have two large dog beds that have a heavy canvas cover. I ordered the PetSafe warmer & a K&H pet bed warmer at the same time and put one of each in the pet beds and put the beds next to each other. The K&H pet bed warmer did a better job of warming through the canvas cover & 1 of my dogs spent quite a bit of time sleeping on that bed (sprawled). The bed with the PetSafe warmer got sporadic use & I had to really lean into the bed to feel the PetSafe's warmth. If my dog hadn't chewed up the cord, I would have returned the PetSafe & gotten another K&H.

I ordered this bed and am returning it immediately. What the profile doesn't say about the bed is that you cannot keep the bed plugged in when not in use. Who has time to run around unplugging the thing as your cat hops in and out of it? I bought the K&H heated kitty bed three years ago and it just died, so was hoping for a longer operating bed. But I would rather have a bed that I can keep plugged in (and turns on only when she is in it) than one I have to keep an eye on.

This helps protect the animal from the heat. The snuggle safe heating pad itself is very hot and it would hurt the animal if they had direct contact with it. This cover ensures that they are not hurt. It isn't necessary to buy it really, you could just fold a blanket around it.

My cats love this kitty bed. I often find two of them squished into it which is no easy task since each cat weighs about 12 pounds. They also have a K&H thermo kitty cabin but they prefer this bed; it is in constant use. The heat is at a low temperature safe for cats. Although the cover is easily removable for washing, I sometimes place a light baby blanket in it so cleaning is even simpler.

This pad is a perfect fit for our big Lab's crate. It is light enough that he can push it to the side when he wants to lay on the cool pan, and fits in my washer with no problem. It's been washed at least 30 times and has not shrunk.

These are not high quality beds, but more a crate liner, which is what I purchased it for. My dog chews up everything, and these are no different. On the plus side, they were pretty cheap, but once she finishes destroying these I will look for something else.

I have a mini dachshund and 3 cats. I have found all of them using this bed. The cats don't seem to burrow, but of course, any dachshund lover KNOWS that their baby will burrow. So, I bought this primarily for my dachshund. GREAT choice! She is able to cover herself to the degree she wishes, from nothing to complete coverage. I could post a pic, but it would look just like the one posted by another dachshund owner. :-) Apart from keeping my baby warm, this bed serves a variety of functions. Great car seat: it keeps her warm, and if she's not feeling cold, elevates her enough to see out the windows without standing up.
