This printer was very simple to set up and install. The step by step instructions are a no brainer. Print quality is very good. Print speed is adequate for my use. It is slightly noisier than the HP all in one machine I had prior to this one...but the Brother appears to be sturdier. If you are a power user that prints constantly all day I think you may be slightly disappointed in the only adequate speed of this machine. However, if you print less than about 50 pages per day... this machine might be a great fit. The one HUGE advantage is the ink cartridges. Not only are they available from resellers at a fraction of what the HP cartridges cost... I purchased this printer to replace my old and worn out Epson C88 machine. So far in only a few weeks of heavy use, the printer has performed flawlessly. The set up was very easy (do NOT throw away any cables from your old machines as some don't come with then new ones). All my previous printer settings (very laboriously set up) used for the C88 were saved and transfered over with software installation, saving me a lot of work. Note: follow the set up instructions out of the box to the letter and you will have no problems. I then downloaded and installed the latest driver update and have had no difficulties. This printer replaces a 4 year old Brother MFC that worked great but suddently died (and needs $150 to fix it). I got this printer for $199 from a local computer super store. I too had initial problems with scanning and after calling tech support (who are fantastic, quick to answer the phone, and speak English), I got it running on my network and installed the scanning software. Other reviewers had problems w/scanning. I did too at first but after a call to tech support, it works fine. The problem with the scanning was due to the install CD only installing the driver but not the included OmniPage software. I have windows Vista. The description of this product is Vista Certified. I went to the HP website and using their live help feature asked if the P2015 printer worked with Vista. Absolutely they said. They lied. I purchased it and tried to use the CD to load the drivers. The install program would not work. I tried to install the HP software "toolbox". That too does not work with Vista. No where does HP advise purchasers that to use the printer one must download the drivers from their web site NOT the CD. The printer works fine (its okay, not great, maybe a 3) but to have the manufacture simply mislead consumers regarding its use is unforgivable. The printer worked fine and was a cinch to install. Time will tell how well it holds up to light home use. My previous Samsung printer was also good until it c&^%$#-out.
