I had mine for a week and sent it back to Amazon, but it was my fault for buying the wrong computer. It was perfect for email and surfing the net, but I needed a laptop suitable for all-day word-processing use, which it isn't designed for. I found it strained my eyes and I couldn't type nearly as fast as with a standard keyboard. However, I was very impressed with the computer's exceptionally small size and weight, and the ease of setting it up and connecting to the net. I also liked the fact that there was a sticker on the keyboard with a toll-free technical support number. I'm going to try an eee PC with a 10-inch screen now - maybe that will be more suitable for my purposes.

This is my second Lenovo notebook -- the other being an R61. Based on my excellent experience with the R61 (the best built, most reliable, sturdy laptop I have ever owned), I bypassed other netbooks available in the local stores to order the S10. The advantage with the one listed on Amazon is the expanded memory and larger hard drive. I wish manufacturers would package other computers the way Lenovo has done with the S10 -- straight forward without all the useless software I would end up taking off anyway. The machine is amazingly quick and does what it is designed for exceptionally well. The only real quirk as shipped was the use of a FAT32 file system on the primary partition of the hard drive that runs XP. That was easily changed to NTFS using the XP convert utility. I used to own a Vaio FJ-270 and loved it except for its severe overheating problem. This one was cheaper and better--I love how computers keep getting cheaper. Despite being filled with free software (which keep in mind keeps the price of the computer down), I could not find any flaws, except for the computer keys being spaced out which took a few days to get used to. Pros: Massive HDD (I was a bit angry when I found out it really only had 280 GB) Fast processor Beautiful HD screen! Elegantly designed quiet Cons: None yet! Keep in mind this unit has a 5200 RPM HDD which wont allow you to enjoy the 4 GB of ram as well as a 7200 RPM HDD would. I bought it to carry around my motorcycle trips and use Skype when in wifi range. Battery performance is medium. It should last for 2.5 hs tops. Most notably the SSD technology incorporated into this model makes using it extremely tedious. The hard disk light hardly ever turns off. Read and Write speeds are extremely low, and can only be improved by replacing the internal SSD hard drive with a new one with better performance (approx 70U$S). Anyways, the price is very attractive, and if you only want it to wacth videos or browse the web when in no hurry (turning it on and gettig to browse the web can take 3 minutes or more) you may be ok with it

Bought this Laptop for someone who wanted a big screen. that was the only criteria really. Naturally assumed it would work as it is listed as a new box. When I got it, I had major issues getting it to work with the wireless card. I spent hours troulshooting the issue, only to figure out that I had to stand right next to my WAP for it to pick up wireless signal. I called HP support to tell them this and then had to spend several more hours explaining to someone who is reading off of a script and doesn't listen to what I am saying that I had some sort of hardware issue. I had to re-image the machine, reseat the card etc. The guy told me to go outside and try to connect to someone else's AP in my neighborhood right after I explained that I had even gone out and purchased another WAP to test it against.
