This is a great computer, for a great price, if you don't mind spend 15 minutes of you time unistalling all the toshiba advertising. Also one of the dvd drivers, stop working, but that was easily fix by goin to toshiba.com and download the driver, or simply run it from the CD of recovery. I don't have any problems whit vista, you just have to download all the actualizations, and whit time you get used to. Besides that, is a great computer, and toshiba has a great custumer services support in almost every country.

I have had this laptop for a little over a year. Besides being very warm (almost hot) when it sits in your lap, it worked really well. It has a lot of memory, Vista is easy to use, and movies look great on the screen. Unfortunately, about a two months ago it suddenly would NOT boot up. It just refused to turn on. I called HP and went through a lot of stuff, until they decided it was a problem with the hard drive and they said they would fix it for free (still in warranty). It took a month, but I finally got it back, and it seemed fine. They had to replace the motherboard, so I though it was fixed. A week ago is stopped working again, I called HP again but while I was on the phone it magically began to work (windows started and things appeared fine). I tested several Dell and HP laptops and this Asus is by far the best of the lot. Performance and quality are much better. And the best reason to give Asus a try is unlike the big companies like Dell, HP, and Lenova, Asus listens to their customers and provides support after your purchase. Name me any other company that due to customer requests, went back and released drivers so you can run Vista, XP, or Linux on the computer (with the generous 320gb hard drive my F8 is setup with a triple boot so I can run all three)! Last but not least is the performance was much better than the other laptops I tried. From now on Asus will be my first stop when I am shopping for a computer (it already was when I was looking for a motherboard).

I just packed up my pink Sony Vaio laptop for return. I received the computer 2 weeks ago and had several issues. First, almost every time I unplugged the computer to run on battery, the function key stopped working; therefore, not allowing me to adjust the volume or screen brightness. My screen went black for no reason a couple times and wouldn't come back on unless I powered the computer down.
