The bulky and heavy wireless laser mice were making my forearms hurt (mild carpal tunnel), so I decided to go back to the wired variety. It's small, so it fits my hand perfectly, and the mouse is light, so my wrist doesn't hurt when I lift it. It's also very responsive when playing games. The laser tracks on surfaces that optical mice cannot. I went with the cheaper laser version, because I absolutely refuse to install Logitech's software. It causes so many problems with Vista. I'm using the default Vista driver and it works great. There appears to be 4 buttons that work on this mouse. The fourth is a small button that acts as a back button for IE. I bought this mouse and the Kinamax MS-U3266 Mini High Precision USB 3-Button 3D Optical Scroll Wheel Mouse at the same time as they were both 5.99 and I needed a small mouse for my laptop...I could not decide which one to get, so I bought both....Unless you need the very smallest mouse you can find buy the Kinamax MS-U3266 Mini High Precision USB 3-Button 3D Optical Scroll Wheel Mouse instead. Both mice work fine, however this mouse is very small and not as well made.

The latest Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 8000 is a fine new addition to their lineup of excellent mice. Setup was very easy, and the software loaded with no problems or surprises. The Bluetooth adapter, which plugs into a USB port, was a pleasant surprise. Although I haven't used it for any other device as yet, it will probably come in handy in the future. Doing away with wires was one thing, doing away with the receptor on the desk is another plus. Be aware that the device requires a USB port, and will not work on the traditional mouse port, because of the Bluetooth adaptor. The mouse has a pleasant feel, and sufficient bottons (5) including the wheel to handle most requirements. The functions, of course, can be changed from the menu included with the software package. Works fine for me like any other mouse on both Macs and Windows, no problems. Had it for about a month, very little often do I see the mouse moving across (particularly up) the screen as with a mind of it's own, but my desk is uneven! Thanks be to the makers Kensington for that great mouse!

I dont know what is going with this hardware, but in the CD there are not drivers to use. You have to purchase the drivers in another place. Why sell a device without driver?

For the price this is the mouse to get, 2000dpi and looks decent. The main thing that scared me for awhile about this mouse was the looks, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the box ... mind you looks are very subjective. If you're a gamer get this mouse, if you're not a gamer get this mouse ... it is worth the money, get rid of your dell mouse today.

I wanted this mouse because it's one of the few 5-button laptop/notebook mice. All the other features, including the flash drive and wireless receiver were bonuses. It's a good little mouse. It's a nice size and fits well in my hand. I haven't had a problem with its responsiveness and tracking. I really like that it has an on/off switch, can use BlueTooth, and uses a AAA rechargeable battery. The extra buttons on the side (I use for back/forward) are placed too far back for such a small mouse. I'd like it better if the extra buttons were on each side of the mouse like some of the old Microsoft corded versions.
