This switch was a little higher than the price range I had intended to pay, but I am very satisfied with the switch and its KVM plus audio capabilities. Cables for 4 computers are included. They are plenty long for my installation (some cheaper cables are sometimes shorter) and are color coded to match the selection buttons on the front of the unit. A great feature is that the audio connections can be selected separately from the computer (keyboard, video, mouse) connections. So, you can be using one of the connected computers while listening to audio from a different computer. I also like that it has an external power supply and is a USB hub with 2 additional USB ports. I previously bought IOGear switches, which are good for their price, but they use 26 gauge wire, which is very thin, and I was having problems related to cross-talk or interference caused by other components. For example, I had interference in the audio whenever I moved my mouse. It was too much for me to tolerate. All of the positive reviews for this ConnectPro switch convinced me to buy one. I LOVE IT! I have owned 2 Trendnet KVM's. One is the Tk 403KR which is supposed to support my wireless mouse. NO WAY. It even loses my old IBM Keyboard. I bought this switch and was impressed as soon as I took it out of the box. It is SOLID. The rubber ends mean that if you put it on something or something on it, air can circulate. For the first time I was able to use all the buttons on my mouse. To date my keyboard has not been dropped nor has my mouse gone "crazy" on my #2 machine which happened often with the Trendnet. What they could have done better was to let us use the numeric keypad to hotkey switch instead of the number keys on the top of the qwerty keyboard. Switch is powered by USB from selected device. no keyboard shortcut to switch, button only, but usb functions flawlessly. one pitfall: this switch does not pass on the appropriate signal for my monitor to go into standby mode. Two years ago I had this product/model, no issues, general business and entertainment worked great. By accident my PC fell over and broke the USB cord.. BAD!. Went out 3 months ago and bought a new one.. GREAT/NOT! Went to play COD2 a FPS game and noticed the "W" key being held down to run the guy just stops running? Hit it again, he starts for 3 sec then stops. REALLY ANNOYING, cant play that way. Called IOGEAR and stated the last version of this product worked fine, no issues? What changed in this version? No response, from the Bangalore IN, rep. state nothing changed? He dont know, I know it has. So this product is good, for general PC work, but if your like me switching from Work PC to Home PC and want to play FPS games, this thing is junk. I had the same issues as the above reviewer. This performs bad in almost every aspect: 1) Video: Reduces the quality of the image, also adding flickering; 2) Keyboard: Doesn't recognize my G15 Gaming Keyboard... it works as a generic keyboard instead, no macros nor LCD; 3) Mouse: Performs adequately here; 4) Audio: It adds significant noise even at low volumes; My suggestion? Wait for the DVI KVMs to get cheaper.
