181.Palm Tungsten E2 with Wireless Keyboard Pak from: PALM

PC Hardware : Palm Tungsten E2 with Wireless Keyboard Pak
This was my second Palm and I had mechanical problems with both of them. The ability to edit Office files is great. However, there's not much memory on the E2 compared to something like an iPod and it has no WiFi capability. It broke after only a year. I don't know if I'd get another one.

PC Hardware : Hewlett Packard Jornada 568 Pocket PC
The HP Jornada while getting up there in years, is still a wonderful handheld device.
I primarily purchased this product to manage my bank account and some office pools.
It has served me very well and does more than I expected really.
It was recommended to me by my father, and I would recommend it to you.
It does lack some of the features that some of the new handhelds have but for everything I need, it shines above other comparably priced PDAs.

PC Hardware : Sony PEG-N760C Clie Handheld
Sony has discontinued the entire Clie' line and with it, all necessary support. If you buy this know that Sony does not care if you have problems with it because they no longer work on the software updates to work out problems. If it cannot be fixed by third party you have no resolution at all.

PC Hardware : Toshiba e755 Pocket PC with Windows Mobile 2003
First off, the 755e PDA is very fragile and resets constantly and was poorly engineered. When it works, it is very nice. However, the buttons are easiy hit, so no matter how you carry it, the unit comes on and drains the battery. I sent mine back to Toshiba under warranty for repair, because the touchscreen went out, the serial number on back was worn off because the unit label wears off after a couple of months use. I enclosed the original serial number label from the box with a letter explaining the malfunction. Toshiba sent me a replacement unit, then later they charged my credit card for $499 (price of a new one at the time) and sent my old one back, because they said it did not have a serial number. The tech support person I was dealing with originally would never return my call, nor ... Read More

I, too, thought I had a great product. Until just after my warranty expired. My PPC decided one day to short circuit itself, and get so hot I could not even pick it up. It warped the leather of my carrying case, and could well have started a fire if I had left it near papers on my desk. Now, it only works when it wants to. HP's response is too bad. Of course, they would be willing to fix it for $200. My advice, DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE! Best case, you get poor customer support and a sub-par product. Worst case, it burns your home or office to the ground!!!

A couple of weeks ago, I broke my ClieSJ33, and purchased this upgrade from an Amazon seller after reading the reviews. I'm glad I did! I heartily recommend it, and want to add a few tips:

THE CONS:
*the biggest down side is the size. Now when everything is ipod or cell phone size, this is large too carry around--it is over 5" high (put it this way, you would need to purchase a special size case)--but the other dimensions aren't bad. It is approx the size of a pocket pc

*the camera & video functions (at least on the one I purchased) are not the great, probably not much better than your average cell phone--probably shouldn't be a big consideration for the purchase.

*you probably know this, but this is not a phone (I like to keep my phone separate, ... Read More
