174.Sony Clie PEG-NX60 (Silver) Handheld from: Sony

PC Hardware : Sony Clie PEG-NX60 (Silver) Handheld
I've enjoyed my Clie for three years and the only problem I've experienced was when it became necessary to send the unit back to Sony repair center in San Diego last month to replace the built in battery at a fixed cost of $135! Plus shipping expenses.
The Palm operating system is great and the syncing to Outlook and my WORD and Excel files has been reasonably seamless. Occasionally I've had to contact Sony telephone support, maybe 10 times in three years. Overall I'd give Sony technical support a score of 7 with 10 being best.
I recommend this unit as a good alternative to buying an all in one phone/pda. Having two units instead of one provides a degree of safety. I'd hate the thought of loosing an all in one unit and having no data and no ability to contact people.

We like the Dell Axim x50v. It does a lot of work for a device that easily fits in your shirt pocket. It is fairly intuitive when working with Microsoft and similar programs. The only caveat is we lose data. Occassionally we'll need a contact phone number and it's gone. Looking around, usually a whole swath of contacts have been cut, such as 40 people whose last names begin with "P." Oh, they're not gone permanently, they always reappear after a soft re-start but we have had to do this a dozen times in the 5 months we've had it.

The screen is clear, the memory sufficient for a huge database of contacts and prospects, and easy to use. Overall, it's a great value.

I bought this device to read ebooks, and it does ok for a low price (like under $100). I use Word, Tiny Ebook Reader, MS Reader and Mobipocket. They all work, within limits.

This device is extremely crashy and locks up a lot if you try to do too much. Make sure you never have more than one application running, and I would never trust my contacts or calendar to it.

As I bought it to use as a pure ebook reader, and got it cheap, I'm satisfied, but don't be fooled into thinking it's a real Pocket PC, it's just not stable enough.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RGYM9LVM11QAW I've found the Palm III xe to be a very usable device. While it's outdated technology, it works well as an eBook reader, gets great battery life, and its reflective display works well in outdoor situations as well as wherever there's adequate light.

Ive owned this Sony Clie PEG-TG50 PDA (Personal Entertainment Organizer, Sony calls it) since 2003 and since then I have been using it as my main personal digital assistant. Its technology is rather antiquated by today's standards but it is so reliable and durable that I could not let go of it. It has never had a system problem, its battery is about 90% its original potential, it syncs even faster and smoother than my wife's TX, and it has survived more drops than I can think of. The way it runs its applications are so intelligent and as intuitive as today's (2007) offerings. Even its construction oozes good quality. I use this Clie mainly as an organizer and information notebook, and for these purposes I do not need a new PDA.
