If you are in dire need of a cell phone. DO NOT GET THIS DEVICE. I would never pay over 60 bucks for it either. These things have been on ebay for under 70 bucks for over a year now. Not just sold by individuals, but by electronics and phone stores for that price. Now, if you are wanting a PDA for under 100 bucks. This device is for you. True, you will not be able to use the cell phone feature unless you know how to get the unlock code, which can be done by the way. Just takes a lot of time on the internet and searching around. I have a cheapo Nokia 3130 I use for a cell phone. So that part of it doesn't really bother me. If you can find a PDA for under a 100 bucks that has the options on it like the Tungsten W. Let me know. I think it's a great deal just for that alone.

I have had my Handspring Visor Deluxe for 5...yes, FIVE years (actually longer). While I take decent care of it, it has taken care of me. My doctor has one too...exactly like mine and we often talk about how perhaps they should be replaced, but the darn thing is still working great and does everything we need it to. I finally ordered a new PDA with all the capabilities of my laptop and am passing this one on to someone else who needs it. Works well enough If you want it just for your day to day activities. I have had to reset it like a million times. Good thing is it does n ot lose your data whet you reset. The camera is a sham and never works at all. Nice media player though. You can not sync it on any other palm OS even those that run The same OS. I am looking to excnange it off or sell it off.

This was such an excellent handheld and the wireless was so easy to use. It's a shame they gave up on it, and thought that the wireless web abilities in my cell phone was a replacement. This is anything but the truth. The Palm VII could get email, news, weather, taxi cabs, book hotels, lookup information in an online dictionary or encyclopedia, and do so much more. The advantage was that these things could be done within seconds while driving down the highway, in the forest or wherever you were at. I used this thing very heavily when I was on a vacation in Florida and did so much that would take forever to accomplish with a GPS, cell phone or device with a web browser. If you still have a 3800 and plan on using it, you're probably aware that certain aspects stop working, namely the battery or the stylus won't stay attached despite the fact it still clicks when placed into the stylus silo. The easiest way to address the famous dropping stylus is taking a piece of electrical tape and wrapping around the top portion of the stylus about 1/2 inch below the top point of the stylus that typically fits between your thumb and index finger while writing. Keep wrapping layers of tape until the stylus fits snug again. Be advised that over time you'll have to add more tape, read on and look at my user submitted photos to find out why.
