PC Hardware : HP Jornada 720 - H/PC 2000 - SA-1110 206 MHz - RAM: 32 MB 6.5" ( 640 x 240 ) - black
General Overview: The Jornada is a great tool for those who want to type on the go. You can purcahse a PCMCIA card to give access to the Internet. The look of the Jornada is terrible, but can be fixed.

Pros: This device can be syncronized with your computer so if you need to tranfer files to and fro you can. It also has pocket versions of Microsoft Office. The audio on the device is surprisingly good, and you can play mp3s, wavs, and wmas. (Maybe more, but I have not checked) It is light, being about the weight of your remote control and fits in the palm of your hand.

Cons: The look of the Jornada is very old, and XP and Vista users will find it hard to adjust. (Lukily there is a fix). Also the rpograms you can upload on this are minimal, so dont expect to be running ... Read More

This is an awesome phone. I have owned it for about 2 years now and it's actually my second one! I cracked the screen on my first one (my fault) and I had to get the same one. I can watch 2 DVD movies or listen to music all day long without worrying about recharging. A 4 GB SD card works great on the phone. I cannot imagine living without this thing. A++++ product!

The SLVR L9 is a good phone. ATT dropped the SLVR line and the L( was never featured in the US. The one I got was a French model. Works fine, no english instructions and the phone was set to French when rec'd. I have not been able to use ATT features like the media mall.

Unlike tiny PDAs, this unit has a real keyboard (76% of full-size), and a decent sized, crisp and bright screen (1/2 VGA size). You can really do some work with this thing!

It comes with the complete Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Along with many great applications developed by HP for this unit.

There is a socket on the bottom for inserting a Compact Flash memory chip (Type I only). This socket is difficult to get to, so it's useful only for memory that you're going to leave in the unit.

On the side is a standard, Type I or Type II, PCMCIA card socket.
Easy to get to and there are many possibilities for this socket. You could add a wireless WiFi card, a 56kb modem, etc. By using a Compact Flash to PCMCIA adapter, you can use a Type ... Read More

PC Hardware : Handspring Visor Platinum (Silver)
My Handspring was a trusted resource for the first 9 1/2 months I had it. Last week, it suddenly stopped working. I went to Handspring's site and filled out the return form only to be told it was out of warranty, which wasn't true; I have 2.5 months left on my warranty. I called Customer Service and was told of my options: Call Tech Support with my claim, which charges a flat fee of $20; have it repaired "out of warranty," for $100; or, as Handspring's website suggests,
"Sometimes the cost of repairing an older device is almost as much as purchasing a new one. We welcome you to explore your options: maybe it makes more sense to simply buy a new device of the same type, or even treat yourself to the latest & greatest..."

Thanks, Handspring, I've explored my options--and I'm switching to ... Read More

If you are in dire need of a cell phone. DO NOT GET THIS DEVICE. I would never pay over 60 bucks for it either. These things have been on ebay for under 70 bucks for over a year now. Not just sold by individuals, but by electronics and phone stores for that price. Now, if you are wanting a PDA for under 100 bucks. This device is for you. True, you will not be able to use the cell phone feature unless you know how to get the unlock code, which can be done by the way. Just takes a lot of time on the internet and searching around. I have a cheapo Nokia 3130 I use for a cell phone. So that part of it doesn't really bother me. If you can find a PDA for under a 100 bucks that has the options on it like the Tungsten W. Let me know. I think it's a great deal just for that alone.
