The first one I received would not power up and I returned it to Amazon for replacement. The second card was sent the next day (bravo Amazon!) and it worked very well for about 2 weeks. I then began having trouble loading games without getting artifacts. I discovered that if I didn't enable ATI Overdrive, that it would function properly, some of the time. Other times I needed to re-boot the computer, or on a few occasions, re-install the video drivers. When I requested a new RMA from Amazon I was informed that the problems with this card were so extensive, that they were no longer shipping replacements, but rather, crediting me with a full refund. Performance is above for the price tag. No overheating, no screen artifacts after long hours of peak use, stable as a hard rock. VRAM may be a little low for some hardcore gamers. We purchased it specifically for developing XNA Games on XBOX 360, so a video card that could resemble the XBOX hardware was the main idea, but it's actually more powerful than the video card on the XBOX360. This card inserts into 6-10 series Panasonic Industrial Monitors to provide DVI input. I had been happy using the component inputs to my TH-50PHD7UY, but bought this card to take advantage of my upconverting Toshiba HD-A3 HD-DVD player, which upconverts standard DVDs to 720p over HDMI (actually HDMI-to-DVI cable) but not component. Very easy to install (4 screws), although you will have to take the TV off its stand first if it is sitting on a stand. The picture is awesome (I cannot say enough about the Panasonic Industrial Monitors). The difference is night and day when playing standard DVDs on my Toshiba HD-A3, which outputs standard DVDs at 480p over component due to piracy reasons, but upconverts to 720p over HDMI. I just used this card to replace a BFG 8800GTX OC2 in my gaming system (9650@4GHz, 8GB RAM, etc...). I chose this card due to the memory size and my monitor's native resolution - 1920x1280. I prefer to play my games at full resolution, full screen, with as much detail and anti-aliasing I can get. What a difference with this new card. I'm mostly playing Age of Conan, and with this new card my frame rates have increased 75%-100+%, in addition to running at a higher level of anti-aliasing. I'm used to incremental gains with a new graphics card, but nothing this extreme. I've also noticed much less heat coming from my system. Last week I made a decision to buy the HIS HD 3850 AGP video card to upgrade the sluggish performance of my old AGP NVIDIA 7800 GS video card. Since NVIDIA abandoned the AGP crowd this card is now the undisputed king of the hill. The card arrived securely packaged with 2 vga to dvi connectors, the install disk, a molinex to 6 pin power cable adapter, and a slip of paper for instructions. The card actually has an 8 pin power connector but not to worry because the 6 pin adaper works fine and can only fit into the card one way. Installation of the card was a snap. The first thing I did was to removed my NVIDIA drivers. Next, carefully remove your old card and insert the HD3850. Connect the power cable and boot up your computer.
