Always liked Kingston and Sandisk products. They are reliable. Today I learned that as of Sept 1, 2008, Amazon ended their 30 day Price Guarantee. Amazon used to be my default stop for most of the products I need but this time, I started shopping again. I saw a better Kingston bundle from new egg for much the same price and shipping is free even if the item is under $25.00.

Even though these cards cost about the same as buying a fast food lunch, their cost-per-gigabyte is a little higher than I'd prefer. The sweet spot at this particular point in time seems to be with the 8GB cards. The only reason I'd suggest this is if your device isn't capable of using SDHC yet. That said, the card works great in my father's 4 year old digital camera, haven't had any issues yet.

See the translucent part on the top of this flash drive? The white part in the picture? Okay, that part flashes bright orange when plugged into your laptop. By bright I mean "glaring in your eyes bright" and by flashing I mean "like a disco club". So under Features where it says "Amber LED", take that seriously. Seriously, SanDisk, what were you thinking? I picked this little guy up because he was inexpensive and I needed something to accelerate Vista. Having first taped over the strobing light to keep it from giving me a migraine, and thus rendering the retractable feature non-functional, I eventually gave up and threw this drive away altoghether. I purchased this item a 1 year and 2 months ago. Right after the 1 year warranty expired....so did the Hard drive. Customer service would have cost me $41.00 to talk to a representative so I had to go to their website. I downloaded and tried all their programs...only to return with error messages. I will not be buying another Western Digital product again.

I bought this Flash Drive during Amazons black Friday sale for the listed $32, which is an incredibly good deal for a SIXTEEN GIG flash drive. I came back to check my order and I find that the price went down a little, but then I read this story about the $0.01 glitch and can't believe what I'm reading. People are COMPLAINING about what they should have obviously realized was too good to be true. An item in a store that usually costs $100 is not going to be sold anywhere LEGITIMATELY onilne for one cent. And we as consumers know this. I have learned to ALWAYS do a web search on the vendor BEFORE ordering from them, regardless off their low prices...like typing in "Ratings on Acme Photo", then reading others' experience with them. Saving $5 or even $50 is not worth dealing with shady characters. A slick web site can be produced by a computer savvy adolescent, so you cannot go by that.
