After much research between Toshiba HP and Sony I decided on the Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907. I compared it to the HP Touch which I was real excited about when it first came out. I use my laptop. So I looked at the HP touch screen or Sony.Everything I have so far installed and begun using has been easy for me, not a computer whiz, to accomplish, though I'm very thankful for the reviewers who mentioned the Windows VISTA habit of always asking via a dialogue box pop-up if the user or "administrator" (me) initiated the action. My HDDR got damaged after un month and no one, neither Toshiba, nor Amazon, have answer my requests.

Well afer my WD external NAS drive crashed, i wasnt going to touch that brand again. Toshiba offered a 3 year warrenty on this. That sounded to me like they were convinced it worked. And it was great...for a few months. Then i started randomly "dropping" I thought it was my computer at first because it was having problems, tried it in another and no luck. So i sent it in. After having it in repair for so long that I almost forgot i had it, they sent it back, without its usb cable. hmmm ok, not a huge deal, but curious, so I called them. They dont send the cable back and then sent an email saying the problem is the drive isnt strong enough to be detected by a computer, they were going to send me another cable so that i can plug it into two ports at once, making it detectable. I purchased 2 of this Notebooks as a gift. items has been shipped to overseas. And recently they told me this notebook has no web cam as described. I am sure too many buyers disappointed because of that My message to Amazon is change of description of the item Thank you

Compre este disco duro hace unos dias. Las unicas quejas que tengo son 2. El cable, que al igual que con los otros modelos, es muy corto. Y el formato en el que viene. Viene en FAT32, por lo tanto, los archivos mayores a 4 GB no los copia directamente. Da un error. Para solucionar esto hay que formatear el disco en NFTS en vez de FAT32. Una vez hecho esto, funcionara de maravilla. Altamente recomendado. Por cierto. Comprenle estuche. El exterior del disco es de plastico, y se siente un poco debil. Tuanis!

I purchased this as a gift for my mother. I am pleasantly surprised with this laptop, but I expected to be. Toshiba is one of three PC laptop brands that I would buy. This is based on past experience. The first thing I noticed was how light this laptop is. Compared to other current model laptops, it may or may not be considered light by some. Compared to the laptop it replaced, it is a featherweight. For the most part, it is very sturdy and feels solid in your hands. I would like a little more stiffness in the keyboard response though. I am not a soft typist and I tend to pound on the keyboard. The trackpad is flush with the surface of the handrests, which takes some getting used to. It is hard to find without looking first. I am not going to go into detail because you can search for the information yourself. The reason it didn't work for one of the previous reviewers is that you have to extract the key from your previous xbox drive and flash that onto your new drive (aka spoofing). You also need to flash your drive to be able to read xbox 360 games. Please google for more information, don't just insult the product because you didn't know how to use it.
