"UPDATE"...Perhaps this review and the current update will help others, however, the original review was yesterday and now this update continues with my progress overnight...I did get the camera up and running and would change the rating to a 4 out of 5 stars but I cannot change the stars via this edit...I ended up going to the "Logitech" site and dowloading the current drivers. I only loaded the drivers and did not use the disk that came with the camera. With just the drivers loaded I went directly to "Skype" and it works great. No glitches or problems in my first online event with this camera. I did change the mike default on "Skpye" to get the audio to acknowledge using the Logitech 9000's mike but beyond that, I had absolutely no problems...I still got the error "1719" but gave up fiddling ... The Flip MinoHD provides a solid picture from a camera that is probably smaller than your cell phone. If you own an earlier model of Flip cameras, this upgrade is well worth your money. It is also extremely easy to use. I am very impressed with this product!

The tripod with flex legs is a nice design. However the threaded section that screws into the camera body is too long. This does not allow the base of the camera to pull down flat against the top surface of the tripod the way it should. I have tried to resolve this matter directly with Flip but they have not been helpful.

This is an excellent camera. It is so easy to use. The captured video does not capture ghost movements, if you move the camera quickly to record. I bought one for myself, and one for my 6 year old granddaughter. She was able to master the controls, and record 48 personal videos. The playback on the TV was excellent. The resolution was superb. I recommend the FLIP Ultra over the other models, because the AA batteries make it very optional, especially if you are traveling. I purchased the black model for myself, and the pink color for my granddaughter. The black model has a velvet glove texture, while the pink has a shiny plastic housing. The Microsoft LIfeCam is a very good value at the price--especially Amazon's price. The picure definition is very good at small size but just OK when full screen (that is probably a function of bandwidth and not the camera). The camera is very easy to use with Skype. However, the Microsoft installation is complex with poor directions--took a long time. That's ironic because once we put in Skype the next day we never went back to the Microsoft system.

Great buy, the easiest camera I've ever used. I bought it for my mother-in-law that has a hard time with the new techno stuff. This camera tells you what each function is used for. I would buy it for my 5 year old. Great buy for someone young or is scared of new techno stuff.

Let me start off by saying congrats to Sanyo on this one. I have owned many Sanyo cameras. This one really does perform better than I thought it would. I have had a Sanyo HD700 and was never really happy with the pics or video from it. Also the focus was really slow. I also have a Sanyo HD1000 and no it is not better than that but the focus is much quicker on this Sanyo E2. The Sanyo E2 is also water proof to 5foot and is much smaller than the HD1000. I was very impresseed by the pictures from the E2 they look just as good as my 800.00 Hd1000. The video from the E2 is also very good in low light. I did have to manually set the ISO to 400 to get good video at low light levels without grain showing up. This camera is a very good performer over all and very impressive. I love my panasonic camera. The pictures are clear and detailed the noise level in low light is extremly reduced. I love taking shots in low light just because come out so well. I would buy it again. Great point and shoot.
