The pluses for this umbrella: the size, the tilting feature, the neutral color, the comparative value, free shipping with Amazon Prime (this motivates a lot of my purchase choices). The minuses: it does not provide much shade, the crank handle is difficult to operate, AND one spoke popped through the material on the very first use! My husband was able to fix the umbrella, but he noted that it was shoddily constructed and needed substantial reinforcement. Why didn't we return it? Not worth the hassle. Were it to do all over again, I'd skip this umbrella and purchase another.

However, the extra-thick, heavy pole is a big problem; I've never found a table with a big enough hole for it and I eventually had to modify one. It was also a challenge finding a stand that would fit it. Finally, even though it was closed and in a stand, the umbrella has overturned twice during storms--taking the table with it! I really think the weight has something to do with that, as it's never happened with any other umbrella. Bottom line: looks and operates well, but make sure you have a table that can stand up to it.
