I've had mine for severa months now and it works just fine. I don't know why the pictures show it lights up - mine doesn't either (like the other commenters). One thing - set the altitude (elevation) for better forecasting.[...]. The display kept forecasting rain and I set the elevation and it went to partly cloudy in minutes (it wasn't raining) so setting the elevation so barometric pressure is read more accurately.

I've never left a review for anything yet, but I'm making an exception for this one. I've had two of these over the last 3 years. I'm just getting frustrated with having to fix it so often. First, mine have been back to the manufacturer 2 or 3 times for warranty work. Some may have been lightning damage from strikes only as close as one-fourth mile. They just don't have good surge suppression on the interconnection cables. I've put torriod suppressors on all cables now and it seems like that helped some. Speaking of the cables, they are indoor modular telephone cables that aren't really suited for outdoor use. I'm always having to clean the contacts or replace them. Well, I'm semi-happy with my purchase. I bought two of these items because they were cheap compared with the shipping cost. Luckly, one of them registers the "correct" temperature with the other being something like 3~5 deg too low (depending on ambient temperature checked by a high-end digital thermometer). The product works perfectly and offers excellent visibility and is a snap to install. I'm just not happy with the product variability. No point in having a thermometer that's not particularly accurate!

I bought this unit five or six years ago and it recently quit. As stated elsewhere, the display shows either the indoor or outdoor temperature alternating with the time. It is easy to change which temperature is displayed from the front. The unit can be mounted on a wall with double-stick tape or set on a flat surface with a tip-out support. It was a little tricky setting the time as the buttons were very small but this only has to be done when daylight time changes or the battery is replaced so it is not a big deal. The sensor cord is fairly long so you have some flexibility in locating it outside. A wire bracket is supplied to mount the outside sensor. I purchased (2) of these Model T-1 Thermometers. 1 for the outdoors, and the other for inside a Greenhouse. The quality is very nice, and they look good. The only thing I have with them is the size. That's not the fault of the product, that's my fault for not paying attention when I purchased. The size is great for in the Greenhouse, but the one outdoors is hard to see during different times of the lighting. Overall this is a nicely made item.

It's a really nice product and worked very well for close to a year. Then, as it seems to happen with others - it leaked and it dies. The guy who sealed it when he bought it had the right idea. I think I will buy another and silicon it up before I drop it in next time.
