This thermometer looks great but does not work. Oh, it might tell you the temp if you have hours to wait on it. When I first started using it I thought that it was broken because it didn't change. I held a hair dryer to the back of it and it moved. If you were to say, bring it in the house from being outside in 90 degree temperatures and your room was 72, it would take it 2-3 hours to start moving down. A snail moves at lightning speed compared to this thing!

I got the OS WMR968 for Christmas 2007 so I've had it for nearly a year. The outside humidity meter worked for about 2 months and quit. I called OS and they said it was still under warranty, but they didn't have any replacements to send me. They put me on a list for one and I still haven't received it (today is Thanksgiving 2008). Frustrated, I bought a temp/humidity sensor (it's called THGR 968) on ebay (since OS didn't have any). It lasted about a month and died. So I bought a LaCrosse 2315 weather station. The 2315 showed me what a good station the OS WMR968 was (the 2315 is ok, but it doesn't update very often and has no solar power, it's strictly battery power for the sensors). I ordered the indoor unit and 2 outdoor units. I had trouble from the start getting 2 outdoor units to work properly on 2 channels. one unit I put near my pool under my deck with the probe in the water. The probe worked for a week, the second probe wouldn't work at all. The unit under the deck work for 2 weeks and quit. The other outdoor unit was in a window between the glass and screen to get outdoor temperature. It worked for about a month. Only the indoor unit works now.

This was a birthday gift for my neighbor/friend who is a farmer. He is well pleased, therfore, so am I with the Weather Station. Accurarcy is a big factor because it's haying season and the Weather Station is accurate. Thank you for providing the perfect birthday gift to my friend the farmer.

I recently purchased this thermometer to give to a friend and did so based on my first hand experience. This thermometer is an excellent example of something that is beautiful built in terms of form and function. It's simplicity gives it a classic look. It ages beautifully and one never has to worry about any finish giving out. The first five years of its life were spent outdoors on a deck in Vermont. It has seen just about every conceivable weather imaginable. Thirty below temps, driving snow, rain, freezing rain and baking summer sun to name a few. I am not at all impressed with this honeywell product. It is not at all intuitive as to how to change settings, and if you hit the wrong button when an alarm goes off, it puts you into reset mode and you have to reset everything. Temp changed reading from F to C and will not go back to read in Farenheit, and it often has false readings on the outside sensor, showing sun or partial sun with 98% humidity and rain going off. Overall, I rate this honeywell product as a lemon and would send it back if I had not thrown away the mandatory packaging and original info that came with it. Maybe honeywell needs to go back to made in USA for quality, instead of following suit with everyone who is getting their products made in China.I would gladly pay more for something if it was user friendly and it worked! I purchased this device with two remote sensors to monitor temperature in two adjacent rooms of my instrument shop. The intended distance was 25 feet-well under the 100 foot specification. The intervening walls are wooden studs and sheet rock and there is little or no interfering electronics here. The connection keeps fading in and out at these distances. Further testing indicates that the system only works within about 10 feet.
