Cast aluminum garden tools are the way to go...bought my first in 1975, coated the handles in plastic dip and until stolen early this year, they were as good as new. Amazon made me an offer I could not refuse and this set has the perfect tools with nice grips. Bought two sets for my retirement (huge) garden.

I have used the shears to trim grass, cut back alyssum, hosta flower shoots and leaves. They work great and being able to change the blade angle is an extra bonus.

This item really helped ease the planting of 100 Iris bulbs. It has a ruler to help choose the depth accurately. I highly recommend this product. It is must better than using a shovel.

well made, however it is far too light weight and did not come with any real edge; understandable, it is a splitting ax. for something this light though, it should have been sharp. overall it is a quality product just not on the scale of anything more than a pack ax

The ergonomic design is wonderful, as the previous reviewer said. The problems I have had with it are: 1. No bagged fertilizer seems to give the "dial setting" for this model. I guess it is not popular enough. It has settings 1-5, and most other spreaders have at least 7 or 10. I usually just leave it on 5, but I honestly have no idea what spreading rate this allows. 2. It gets clogged easily. I wear gloves, so I just reach a hand in and break up the fertilizer clump that has blocked the opening, and then keep going. This depends on how clumpy your fertilizer is, some kinds are worse than others, especially if you are using from a bag that was opened last season. Not a huge deal for smaller lawn (mine is only 7000 sq. ft.) but it would really get to be a waste ... Read More

You would pay at least $10 each for tools of this quality in any hardware store. Nice solid wooden grips, well built - I have been hacking away around a treestump stuck in solid clay, and these tools do not bend or buckle. The more mundane potting and gentle weeding, for which these were designed, should be a breeze...

I bought this item several years ago, sold as the True Value Hardware brand, but obviously an unmarked Fiskars item. It fits well in a pants pocket, the little latch can be operated one-handed, never has gotten dull, never has rusted, never has broken, cuts almost anything up to 1/2". And it has the anvil pruner advantage of not slipping by or around what you're cutting.

The handle arrived quickly and in good shape. Very nice handle and with available attachments would be a great tool for someone. However, the picture on line did not note that there are no threads on the handle. It is made to use with other snap on Wolf Garten attachments (rakes, shovels, etc.). Without threads it did me no good and was returned. It may help to have a better picture or info to avoid this problem.
