lighter than any garden rake i'd ever used in the past, it strikes and pulls very well, but are very hard to push along side soil surface because of the purposely built off set claws, terrific shock absorbing shaft, could've use wider handle on the tail section though.

Very light, very handy under tight spaces and you don't have to spear this thing like bigger and heavier rakes, just reach it out and put it down, pull the claw back and towards you with a little elegance in your posture, too bad though the claw are too thin and it bounces more than I wanted from time to time. Other than that, the design of the claw really works.

Happy with purchase. A little rough on the final finish. Will want to sand these a little or wear gloves. In all fairness these are as good or better than most of the wood replacement handles I see in the stores.

yes, it's a GARDEN HOE, not a back yard one, for that I'll have to buy another one for serious digging, very light, very well built, works well with either glove or bare handed, cuts roots of weeds pretty well, and dug up half inch of soil if you want to, because of the angle of the head part, it's not possible to dig more than that. Did cut a 2 inch root with only one strike and get the job done, excellent shock absorbing shaft.

Apologies for not submitting review sooner. I just opened up package holding rake today, July 10th, 2008. Since being under severe drought conditions here in San Antonio Texas starting this pass April I really did'nt have anything to rake. The drought did finally break the day before and during the 4Th of July thank God and now I will have some raking to do and by the looks of your product, this sturdy and very pliable feeling rake, it should do the job with great smooth ease and believe me for an achey boomer lady that's just the ticket. I like this product very much - It does exactly what it says it will and you can stand up while weeding. However sometimes the weeds do not fall right out or the squeezzing mechanism stays closed and one has to manually open it again to use it to dispose of the next week. The is the only failure. I have only used it twice so far so let's see how annoying that really gets over time. Thank goodness it is not an expensive product.
