I purchased a cover for my tractor, and was very pleased, so I ended up purchasing this one. While being a lighter weight than my tractor cover, I found this to still be sufficient for my snow blower. My biggest concern was whether it would fit, and luckily, it did - perfectly. I have an Ariens 824, and this cover fits like a glove. It's snug, so I'm a little concerned about it catching on something and tearing at some point, but I won't be taking it off/on too often, so hopefully that's not an issue. It's summer here, and with the snowblower under my deck, I don't expect too much weathering. Come winter, we'll see how it handles the cold/snow. Now, if I can just keep the darned critters away from it too, then I'll be really happy.

I live in South Bend, IN, near the Great Lakes. We get lake-effect snow. (Lots!) I have a smaller, one lane driveway which I couldn't justify spending hundreds on a gas powered snow blower. However, when we get over 12" of snow a few times a year, shoveling gets really old. When the snowplow buries our driveway a few times a night, shoveling is madness. After reading the reviews, seeing the video demo, and find a great after-season deal on this I took the plunge. Works really well! A job that would easily take 1 hour can be done in 15 minutes. Many of my neighbors asked about it. I point them here!

This is a great little shovel. It is lightweight and clears the snow quickly and easily. The only thing is you can not direct where the snow will go. I used it on my 3 decks and walkways. We have rocks around patio stepping stones and as long as you are careful not to hit the rocks, it does great on the stepping stones too. I have a bad back and am in my 50's and not too healthy and it works just fine for me. Anyone can use it and that is what I was looking for.

I found the tool extremely easy to work with. Set up and use were no issue at all. Though I found it effective at melting the ice that had built up on the sidewalk, it was not as easy as I had hoped. I don't know if it was the cold, or the depth of the ice (.5 to 1 inch) but I found that the torch took quite a while to actually melt it down. It worked great, but it was only able to melt a 1.5-3 inch circle at a time and the sidewalk is 3 feet across. I found that the torch worked best when supplemented by the old fashion ice pick or shovel. The torch broke through the surface and gave me a void to break the existing ice into so that was easier than simply pounding away without it. I would think about how you plan to use it and purchase as long as your planning is in keeping with it's abilities. ... Read More

I bought this after our first big snowfall in December (07). Our gas blower crapped out on us last winter. In Wisconsin, we had our second highest total December snowfall on record. January is now over and so far we have had a ludicrous amount of snow. So my Snow Fox has been used extensively already. I would say a 4.5 star rating is more accurate. But you can't select a half star. We have an average size Madison city driveway and sidewalk. For snow 2" to 6", using the Snow Fox makes far more sense then using a gas blower. For 6" to 12" it still does a fine job. It's light enough to easily push with one hand. The other hand guides the extension cord. It clears the snow just as fast as a single stage gas blower. The blade is well designed. It is easy to attach and detach. I have a 350 cc ATV and the blade works well with that size ATV, but will work better with a larger machine.
