I've had this mower for 2 months now. Works great. No assembly required when opening it. Easy to charge and start. Cut pretty good, though does at times have trouble cutting on lower setting in areas where there is not too much grass. But when it is fully charged, it does a good job of cutting, even thick high grass that I hadn't cut in 1 month was no problem. Would recommend this highly. Plus, after i'm done, I clean off the mower and recharge it for its next use. No worries about gas, oil, or any other maintainence.

Part of owning a reel mower is sharpening the blades. It cuts better and requires less energy from you to do a good job. All this kit provides is a paste that is the same as valve lapping compound from a FLAPS (friendly local auto parts store) and a handle. I think you'll find that a jar of valve lapping compound will work just fine at a lower cost. You can use a 1/2" drill to turn the reel blades or roll the mower around. Just Google up the instructions for sharpening a reel mower for best results. For those who don't know valve lapping compund is an abrasive mixed with a grease to make a paste which slowly grinds the surfaces between two metal components. This mower is very easy to assemble from the box. The mower deck height adjustment is great. Power for cutting thick grass is adequate, but if using the mulching feature don't let the grass get too high. For my small lawn of about fifteen hundred square feet this mower is perfect.

Easy to set up. The blade does need tightening right out of the box, it would be almost impossible to push if you didn't loosen it up a bit before trying it out. It cuts very well, even on our weedy grass, but you do need to keep up regularly and it might take a lot of energy and time on a large lawn. Works great on medium or smaller lawns, however. It is nice that it's not nearly as loud as a gas powered mower.

If your yard isn't big enough to justify an electric mower, and you want to have the lowest possible carbon footprint possible, an old school reel mower is the answer you're looking for. Just be prepared for a good workout as you'll have to cover the same ground at least 3-5 times in each direction, cross-hatch, for anything resembling a clean cut, though you'll definitely need an edger/trimmer to complete the job. Also, if you have a lot of weeds, buy a good weed cutter because they laugh in the face of this particular reel mower. I bought the 16" thinking it would be good enough for my smallish yard, and while it mostly gets the job done, I wish I'd gone for the Scotts 20-Inch Classic Push Reel Lawn Mower #2000-20 instead.

Fantastic little mower!! So easy to start and to use. This is perfect for those of us without a lot of "pull" power. The only drawback are the two little clips that hold the handle in, but luckily, the handle stays in by itself. Otherwise, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Very pleased with this product! I mow my yard twice a week because some tall weedy grasses (crab and nut) are difficult to cut if allowed to get to tall. But the lawn looks great afterwards and I look forward to mowing and the exercise. It has been 50 years since I pushed a non powered mower, but it pushes easily and I can mow in the cooler early morning or late evening hours because it is so much quieter. Cutting more often and less length is probably better for my grass! Using a nonpowered non-selfpropelled push mower is better for me, my yard, and the enviroment!

I was hoping this would be a good option for saving on gas and getting some exercise, but although this mower accomplishes both those things, it does a really poor job of cutting grass. I have to mow over some places multiple times, and this mower WILL NOT CUT DOWN A DANDELION. I have to go back and pull all of those up by hand. It also jams really easily with just small (1/2") pieces of bark or limbs. I gave it 2 stars because it always functions, and if something were to go wrong with my regular mower, I could use this one in a pinch. But as for saving fuel, it just isn't worth it. It takes me two hours to do my yard with this mower, whereas I can finish in an hour (or less) with my regular mower. An hour of my time is worth more than the $4 for a gallon of gas. After one use, seams started failing. Is repairable, however sort of a pain to keep repairing after every-other use. Would suggest finding something of higher quality.
