HP ink is the quality one would expect from HP- I was printing a book which was on line-it would have been just as expensive to buy the book than to print it-no savings.

well i guess this review if based on the printer and the ink . they are great as far as color is concerned .but they run out pretty fast and they are very expensive. we use them for business. we print mostly black and white and rarely use color. but the color somehow runs out as if it mixes in with the black . we were not able to use the printer after the magenta ran out , when we put the magenta in it informed us that all the other colors ( not the black, since we replaced it a week before ) were out and we could not use the printer till we replaced them all .. somehow i think its a scam with hp , but im not an expert on manufacturing ..

In the first month of use, the ScanSnap has allowed me to digitally archive a large stack of documents. The included optical character recognition software is very good; while not perfect, particularly on documents with some distortion or noise, it exceeds every other solution I've tried. This device has paid for itself already, allowing me to do in two hours what would have previously taken many days. Two minor issues 1. On five (out of 500+) documents scanned, the device has jammed. In each case I suspect use of the included sheet carrier would have prevented the issue. The cartridge is suppose to get 4,000 pages @ 5% coverage on letter size paper. When you use the printer regularly and all your High Yield cartridges run out of toner at the same time, you will begin to question why. I don't print the same things over and over nor do I print things that have the same color requirements. Is it possible then that all the color toner cartridges run out at the same time? My toner usage in 6 months is exceeding my toner usage the entire year previously with an older HP model yet my print requirement is the same. Canon must have something going on with the cartridge cost. Is this why the printer was so reasonably priced?

The knife at the end will not lock in the "out" position. It's still usable, but inconvenient to do so. I do like the tool's ability to quickly slice through the plastic security packaging.

This printer works great. I had needed a printer with fax/scan/copy and wireless capabilities because I live in a pretty small house and wouldn't have so much room for all these various devices and it needed to be wireless because I don't have enough room for it next to the computer so I had to choose a different location, but this machine here does everything I wanted for it to do. Setup took about 5 minutes, which includes connecting it wirelessly to my WPA secured router which isn't configured to broadcast an SSID. It was a breeze. Instruction manual seemed just fine. No problems installing the drivers. Packaging when it came in was clean.
