That is to say, for me, this cooler succeeds in cooling my laptop when the fan is functioning correctly. I have had it for about 3 months and use it daily. After the first week or so, it stopped working. But I opened it up (unskrewing a bunch of screws) and saw that some debris had been sucked into the fan. So, I cleaned it up. Then it was back to normal. Lesson learned: place the cooler & laptop on clean, solid surface. Even if I'm on the couch, I place the cooler on something like a thin children's book so it's not sucking up more than air. Over time, though, the fan stopped working consistently. I have used this stand for my laptop on the couch and in my bedroom. I love the fact that it keeps my lap cool and brings my computer up to a better working height. I have also used the cushion when reading or doing a crossword puzzle.

This is an inexpensive item for a laptop stand. I only paid $19.99 and it is not worth more than that. Nice for occasional use like what I needed, but not durable for everyday use.

It is a decent product, but the claim that it's foam allows the laptop to breath is a bit of a stretch. While my computer sits on it the CPU temperature goes up, if I hang the corner where the fan is over the edge it drops by 10% in a minute or two. Had they made it with holes through the foam I think it would have been 4 or 5 stars.

If you are not the type of person who likes to put things together and prefers to have furniture pre-assembled, then this item might not be for you. I personally like piecing things together but this desk took me about 30 minutes to assemble and tighten properly. I haven't experienced the rolling problem since two of the wheels have locks on them and I do like the adjustable height feature since I will sometimes roll this desk into my kitchen so I can look up recipes on my laptop while cooking.
