Nothing compares hands down to the quality and versatility of this harp. Every part can be replaced, not that you'd need to unless you ran it over with a truck or something. These harps are the loudest I've played and the tone and ease I have playing them is unmatched by Hohners which I've also tried. The beard bite thing I ran into as well on occasion... but only when I was badly in need of a trim, in any case, covering the bolts with a piece of tape or a trim can easily fix this. I own several of these harps and will forever be a fan.

This is a great harp. It has wonderful sound and the quality is exceptional. I highly recommend it for all levels of experience.

I've been playing since I was a kid and like these best. I've tried many brands and materials. I,along with many friends and pro players,prefer these to any other.

Last year I bought a piano-keyboard melodica, which I liked, but, as someone much more comfortable playing Irish flute, tin whistle, recorder, and sax, I found it a bit of a challenge. What I really wanted was to be able to hold the keyboard like a whistle/recorder and use both hands to play the keys. But with the style melodica I had this was very difficult. Then I discovered these small-key Hohner models (alto and soprano)! I love them. They may indeed require some adjustment for traditional keyboard players, but for those who come from blown-instrument backgrounds they are extremely easy to adapt to and offer a great new world of sound. I purchased one of these Harmonica's for my 3 y.o. daughter at a local fair. It was the first thing that I bought when we got there and my daughter played it the entire time. I was very happy that the sound that comes out is pleasant. When we left 5 hours later, she was still playing it. She likes to wear it around her neck to this day.
