I am very pleased with this piano. I'm not a professional, I didn't have any specific requirements aside from what already comes with it, and I wasn't looking for the best piano on the market. I have had my 300-series yamaha descant recorder for a few years. I am still very happy with it. I have even recorded with it- not to bad effect. If you are considering taking up the recorder, but are off put by plastic instruments - don't be. The yamaha 300-series tend to be much better quality than the cheaper wooden recorders (which you will need to fork out more money for, than for the yamaha 300). I have had more than one of those lower-end wooden recorders which I've had to throw away in disgust, due to muffled tone quality, poor tuning, etc. The yamaha 300, on the other hand, is a trusty instrument, with clarity of tone. Very highly recommended.

I ordered the recorder and book /cd for my daughter, who needed it for music class at school. (I think that sharing the community recorder is just gross! Even if it is "sanitized" after each use. Yuck!) The instrument is good quality and perfect for school music classes. Didn't sound nearly as bad as I thought it might :) The color choices make it fun, too!

Way better, though less romantic perhaps, than having a great big piano in the living room. My daughter loves the pre-recorded music that came with it as well, and now my wife is starting to plunk away and learn it also. Sounds exactly like a real piano, or you can choose many other sound effects. We paid a bit more (around $65.) for a good stand for it, the cheap ones will not hold it effectively, see reviews elsewhere.
