To be fair, everything works as advertised. However, there is an intermittent crackle and pop that can't be resolved, seemingly by Native-Instruments as well as dozens of users. Check out the NI website forum before even thinking about buying this item. Basically, the drivers, both MAC and Vista, are no good. Native-Instruments has nil customer service, answering only one of my numerous requests for help, and that after over a week and with nothing helpful at all. Stay away from this. They make excellent software, but can't quite get hardware to work correctly.

I own this product and frequently write music with Virtual Drumline, Sibelius 5 and Kontakt 3. Another user review stated it doesn't function properly, I had that problem also but when speaking with (the very helpful) tech support the told me just to install the updates with the Natvie Instrument service center, logged in, installed updates, problem fixed, program works great and has an extensive library, you just have to make sure that the program is up to date, as with most programs. I love the percussion sounds and extensive Drum Set library included and it has made writing percussion parts with Sibelius that much more pleasing.

Since I purchased the upgrade to GR3 the stupid register screen comes up almost every time I open the software. When I use it in Sonar, not only does the stupid registration screen come up, it will lock me out of Sonar because there is no way to close the the reg screen. I keep getting the same canned emails telling me to turn off anti virus (that I don't have) and reinstall, and clean out my registry.
