I own and use many chromatic harmonicas including the big Hohner 64 Chromonica, 12 hole Super Chromonica, and original 10 hole Chromonica. I also own the CX. This little harp has the same quality reed plates as the other Hohner instruments. The difference is in the unique plastic comb and thin cover plates which give it a distinctive sound quality that some people like and some people don't. I'm one of those who like it. It's good points in my opinion: It's small -- I can cup it easily like my old Marine Band diatonic and carry it anywhere in my pocket. Same is true for the 10 hole Chromonica. I love the Meisterklasse harmonica. I first came in contact with one when I went for my weekly massage at my brothers office. My massage therapist introduced me to the instrument. I was impressed with the sleek and sophisticated appearance of the Meisterklasse. I love the way the name brand Hohner appears on the top of the instrument alongside the model name. I also like the similarity between this instrument and the 150th anniversary models. On the down side however, I was not happy with the fact that the Meisterklasse does not sport numbered holes. I've played harmonica for 55 years, most of these professionally. I'm fussy, and tight with compliments. They're earned, not given. I'm quite particular about my harmonicas, expect a lot, demand a lot. I've owned some that were junk, or required much work to get up to my standards. The CX-12 isn't one of these. I bought mine when they first came out several years back. Out of the box with no tweaks, it played beautifully. Unlike most chromatics, the CX-12 is wonderfully air-tight, with windsavers on the lower two octaves. I can get double, maybe even triple the time per lungful compared to other chroms I've played. The slide is smooth, precise, flawless. The one piece cover gives the CX-12 a HUGE sound. The reed action is firm, exactly as it should be. A tab holds ... Read More

This harp is ok to have as a spare, but I would not recommend using it to learn on. It just sits in my truck as a spare harp to mess with during lunch breaks and when I have to wait on someone. It is alright for this, but its prob better to invest another 10 dollars and get a nicer one. The Marine Bands from hohner are a favorite of mine and are perfect to learn on. Its ok for the price.
