Epiphone G-1275 Double-Neck Custom Electric Guitar, Heritage Cherry First let me say I have owned a previous model made by the same manufacturer (Epiphone)this was made some where around 2004 0r 2005,and to clear up the first review that I just read there are two models stay away from the bolt on neck model be sure to ask seller,I've never owned a bold on G-1275 but most forums speaking about these say their junk,the Epiphone G1275 custom is the set neck,the first one that I owned was a set neck and the necks started to pull away from the pockets,I purchased it used and had no recourse what so ever so I lost out big time! The best advice I can give anyone is to buy new from a source that is reputable,or do as I did here on amazon ask the seller (if its an individual) for serial ... Read More

I am a former Gibson owner - my first guitar was a 1986 Gibson SG. I started playing guitar in 1987. Gibson owns Epiphone, it's their "value brand" - and let me tell you from personal experience: except for slightly generic-sounding pickups on the lower-end models, the Epiphones are so good that I don't bother even looking at the Gibsons anymore. Nowadays, with computer-controlled manufacturing, the consistency & the quality has gone up exponentially! And the prices have come down ALOT... except for the "lifestyle" that Gibson is selling nowadays. I got the epiphone sg over the g-400 (too expensive) as a practice and recording guitar for our band. It plays and sounds far better than any Yamaha Pacifica with the dual humbuckers giving it a meaty sound. However, it pales in conparison to the real Gibsons due to the dodgy electronics, the bolt on neck, the dodgy color and the hard playing at anything below the 15th fret. I also own a squier p-bass special which, for around the same price, offers far better value for money (even with the dodgy electronics-the bane of cheap guitarists)

whatever you do, dont buy this guitar. it has a huge problem: basically consisting on a weight balance problem. if youre sitting while you are playing there will be no problem, but if you are on your feet... you just cant play the guitar, because you are too busy trying to grab the neck that keeps going down. you will be tired and frustrated because you just cant play the guitar confortably. dont get me wrong, the guitar sounds very good and it looks pretty much like a gibson sg model (it has grover tuners), but i cant believe a company like Epiphone sells a guitar with a huge problem like this (believe me, you just cant play the guitar when you are standing up). and it s not like you are buying a 100 dollar epiphone... come on! just buy another guitar, save your money for the gibson or buy a standar ...
