Musical Instruments : Casio LK45 Lighted Keyboard with Power Supply and Microphone
I bought this device primarily for my kids. The keyboard works very, well - excellent teaching capabilities. I was surprised to see how gigantic this thing is. The only issue is the Song selection. It has alot of unpopular songs in the databank (Kids songs are limited and Adult-popular tunes are limited) Lots of classical music (Which if you are buying this as a beginner -you cant possibly play it) and Christmas-type, dated music. Good product but not perfect

A great product but I went with Costoc on line, shipping included for 169.00 and that included the adapter, the stand, and the digital chord finder.

I was looking for a weighted midi keyboard, not necessarily with its own sound generation, and it was hard finding something at the $400-500 mark that felt good. Well, colour me surprised that the Casio has a very realistic feel, and it even sounds good.

The built-in speakers are not all that big, so they're fine for practicing on your own, but probably won't hold up if you're playing together with more than, oh, say a flute.

Also, if you're using this as a midi controler, make sure your host has velocity scaling, because I can't get velocities over 110 or so out of this thing, no matter how hard I hammer.

Also also, the pedal that comes with it is a simple affair. If you buy a better pedal make sure it has the right behaviour or is switchable, because the ... Read More

The weighted keyboard feels a lot like a real piano. It is nice to be able to play pipe organ sounds and experiment with combinations of sounds. You can use any two instruments at the same time...Grand piano and strings is wonderful as is Grand piano 2 and electric piano 2. The recorded library is very nice as well. The sound is pretty full on all of them. Not exactly like playing a pipe organ or a piano, but that is not expected on a keyboard.
The pedal plug ins are great. You can plug in to sustain or soft. You can also adjust the tone, loudness, and a host of other things by pressing function and a combination of keys. They have thought of most everything I needed. Also you can use a headset so you can play while others are sleeping!

Musical Instruments : Casio PX110 Privia Digital Piano
The Casio PX110 Privia Digital Piano is the instrument used by the instructors at the music studio where I take lessons. The teacher (who has a band) uses this for all his gigs too. It's been over 4 months now that I have owned the Privia and absolutely love it! Considering how much an upright, console, baby grand or grand would cost, you get nice sound for the affordablity of the Privia. My husband who played the piano for quite a few years was very pleased with the sound too. It doesn't have alot of bells and whistles on it, but I actually like that about it---it's not too overwhelming to use the included features. Because it's not too heavy you can easily move this from room to room if need be. I am over the top pleased with my purchase.

I have owned this keyboard for about six months, and although I'm extremely happy with it, there are a few drawbacks that anyone who is considering this keyboard should know about. So I'll try to make good as list as possible.

THE GOOD:
*realistic sounds (#19 is better than a real drawbar organ!)
*good DSP settings
*32 polyphony
*Alot of presets, so you can save your favorite sounds
*Powerful mixing board
*Layer and Split settings, which means that up to four sounds can be playing at once
*Very light weight, especially compaired to some Yamaha's and Rolands I've tried to pick up.
*Many tones, some very funny, such as Helicopter, Applause, and GunShot.
*Many different beats.
*The LCD screen is nice.
*Casio Cord is very accurate. ... Read More

Musical Instruments : Casio WK-3000 Professional Series 76 Key Digital Recording Studio Styled Keyboard
This is the third Casio keyboard that I have owned, and played for months.
I've had a 691, and found it to small. I bought a Wk3200. I found that it was great, but the type of music that I play needs a walking bass. It doesn't have one on it. So I got a Wk 3000. It's perfect for me. It has great sounds and of course the walking bass that I need to play jazz. The tones are great. Everything about the instrument is very satisfying to me.
I rate it as one of the best. I've been playing piano for 69 years. K.L.
