Amigo 1/2 Size Classical Guitar for Kids or Children I was very surprised with the quality of the sound. If you are looking for a small guitar for your young child, this one is a very good bet. A real classical guitar for the price of a toy one.

I bought this guitar for one of my students...didn't expect anything much as it wasn't a Robelli, Ibanez or even a Yamaha Classical...but boy! for the price and for the child beginner, it's perfect!! It's economical enough not to worry if the kid tends to knock it up a few times (and even then, the guitar still manages to look good, no cosmetic surgery needed), but even if the kid is serious about his sessions, the volume and tone is very very good... A child student can superbly play on the Amigo ¾ size from childhood into his adolescent years without sacrificing posture...heck even I played it a few times, ran some solos, and I felt very comfortable!! The only thing I noticed was that passing the 12th fret, the tuning goes a little FLAT, but that's ... Read More

The Amigo isn't realy large enough to be a Tenor: 15 frets rather than 17+, nut to bridge length just under 16 rather than 17", overall 24.5" rather than 26". Actually closer to a Concert than Tenor. Mine came with 2 wrapped strings like a Baritone uke, way too low for a Tenor, so it really didn't work at all well as delivered. So, I bought a concert string set, salvaged the smallest wrapped string for a lo 'G' and made it into sort of a 'Contralto' Uke, tho there is really no such size ! But I had fun doing it ! Appears well made, & considering the very modest price, 2 stars !
