This guitar is pretty cool. The finish is absolutely beautiful and It really has the feel of a real Les Paul. Shipping was amazing. I ordered the guitar on Saturday and it arrived Tuesday. However, The looks and amazing shipping service are only a small portion. I have been doing some reading of others reveiws and it seems as if a few people have encountered small problems with their Eipihone Les Paul models. Mine also had one. No matter what I do I can not eliminate "fret buzz". It seems as If I will have to take it to a shop and get the frets filed down some. Other than that the guitar is an amazing buy and so far no one has experienced any problems that cannot be fixed quite easily. Its really a no-brainier. WHOEVER SAID THIS THING IS GOOD FOR METAL HAD IT NAILED, BUT IT'S ALSO GREAT FOR BLUES AND HARD ROCK. THE SOUND IS AMAZING PLUGGED OR UNPLUGGED, THE BOARD IS EASY TO SLIDE ALL OVER AND THE BODY. IT'S LIGHT AND FOR A LEFTY PLAYING A RIGHTY THE STRAP KNOBS ARE PLACED PERFECTLY (ONE ON THE BACK, ONE ON THE BOTTOM.) BUY THIS THING YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DON'T.I WAS GOING TO BUY THE SG-400 GOTH SERIES, BUT THEN I SAW THIS.

This is a good gibson for the price. It doesnet compare to those Les Pauls, but those are about 5000$, so if you want a nice, good, cheap gibson, buy this guitar. It doesn't say it anywhere, but it does come with an extra pack of strings and a small but loud amp. Thanks.

Epiphone Les Paul Special II Electric Guitar, Black I bought this guitar as a Christmas present to myself, and I'm very pleased with it. I use a Digitech SP50 modeling pedal and this guitar works perfectly with it. It's solid but not a backbreaker like other Les Paul models, but still delivers a great consistent quality sound. I have no trouble keeping it in tune, though I did put new Super Slinky strings on it as soon as I got it. I play in a church worship band every Tuesday and Friday and this guitar has turned a lot of heads both in the band and the audience. Many people have noted it's great sound and sleek looks. I'm 100% satisfied. Great job Epiphone!

For the money that I had paid for this guitar I didn't really expect much. But when it was delivered and I opened the box I was surprised. The finish was absolutely beautiful (ebony). But what good are the looks if it doesn't play well. After tuning it up and tightening the input jack I gave it a whirl. WOW. Though the humbuckers are not as good as on the Gibsons, they held their own. After stretching the stock strings, they didn't go out of tune. I believe that the bolt on neck had plenty of sustain even though the neck is not a set one. I know that the G-310 I bought is an excellent example. If you buy an example like mine, you will have a fine guitar for very little money. Hey, I might buy another!

"T" wasnt lying about the pickups, the do indeed scream. The more I play it, the more i like it. Plain and simple, it looks, feels and sounds great. Previous to this guitar i have been playing my dad's Gibson Les Paul Recording... Tonally I am not noticing much difference. Honestly I think if i switched to higher gauge strings like that which are on my dads LP, my guitar would sound virtually the same. I'm not the sharpest tack in the box when it comes to the nitty gritty details of guitars/pickups/overall tone, but i wasnt expecting my Epi to sound so close to an actual Gibson LP. If it helps paint the picture, I play a lot of Tool... and the solo from Rossetta Stoned sounds perfect on this guitar. It's no Silverburst, but you sure as hell can ballpark it. I play mainly bluesy rock (a little bit of jazz, no metal) and was looking to buy a second electric guitar, and went into my local guitar shop to try this out. I wasn't particularly looking for a Les Paul, but after trying out a few other guitars (some of the Joe Satriani Ibanez's) I saw this lying around and was intrigued by the natural wood look. The look is a matter of taste -- I've seen people note it as a negative or as a positive. You have to check it out and see for yourself. Personally, I think it looks very cool and classy. Both my mother and wife thought it looked great, too, but, as I said, it's a matter of taste.
