And you will like it. DIY was throwing free parties backindaday when people were just feeling that acid house groove. This is not acid though. This is dancing, head bobbin', pleasant, chill, energetic, all in one. This is a beautiful selection of tracks, a great mix, you really can't tell if they were made in 89 or 99 -- super tight.

This is one of the wittiest CDs that I have ever heard. Breiner very successfully finds baroque elements in music where a non-composer's ear would never pick them out. Would you have noticed the similarities between "Michelle" and the main subject of "Die Kunst der Fuge"? Buy it.

I heard Fever Tree's medley of "Day Tripper/We can work it out" for the first time (that I can remember) and was blown away. The sound was so full and it didn't sound like something produced 40 years ago. This is actually 2 alblums of Fever Tree's music. They must have remained a local phenomenon because, man, I can't remember these dudes at all! If you're still rooted or partially rooted in the sixties, you might want to give this a listen.

Good 2-lp's on one CD. I vaguely remember the name Fever Tree, a Houston psychedelic band that released several albums during their 1966-1970 existence. This import has the band's first self-titled lp and their second effort 'Another Time Another Place' - both released in 1968. Tunes here I enjoyed the most were their nifty Beatles cover "Day Tripper / We Can Work It Out", the moody "Filligree And Shadow", "Imitation Situation" {sort of reminds me of the Guess Who"}, the kick-*ss "Man Who Paints The Pictures" and their best known song "San Francisco Girls". Might obviously do a lot for fans of Bubble Puppy, Blues Magoos, Music Machine, Chocolate Watchband, Demian and possibly Love.

I still have the original LP FEVER TREE from 1967, and those tunes comprise most of the first 10 songs here. Given that this is a practically unknown album and band, some of these orchestral based songs are as timeless as you can get for the music of that era! Listen to UNLOCK MY DOOR, COME WITH ME, SUN ALSO RISES, and FILIGREE AND SHADOW (before this song turns into a loud psychedelic blaster). One would be hard put to find such a fine group of folky, lavishly done songs from any era. Even the lyrics are miles above most of the silliness from that era. And strong vocals to boot! Much of the rest is second rate, which is why I only give 4, and not 5 stars. Still a near masterful CD which easily stands the test of time!

First of all the track listings shown for this album correspond to the new remaster not this cd. The general sound of this cd is muffled (lack of high frequency and definition). After listening to this cd at an appropriate volume (loud) I was surprised to hear surface noise. My opinion is this was mastered from a vinyl LP.
