Imagine a mellower Rodan, a moodier Roadside Monument, a quirkier Codeine, a bloodier A Minor Forest, and a, well, better-sounding Traindodge, and you're about halfway to understanding the music of Paul Newman. Yes, this is a band that's been heavily influenced by its post/math rock precedents, but Paul Newman takes this inspiration one step further and uses this influence as a base to build their own unique math-rock sound.

There isn't a simple, straightforward song to be found on this CD. "Seizure's Fashion" is a hard-edged but oddly restrained track, with spare guitars against a pounding beat. There are glimmers of alt-rock, and some churning alt-metal power chords around the 4-minute mark. "pollo Creed" and "Where Are Your Hands Now" are both mellow songs with repeated themes. ... This was my first purchase of Witchcraft, and I was blessed.
The CD automaticly captured my sole, and spoke through my
heart. It was a magickal work of art, dedicated to remembering
the "Old Ways", and enhancing the spirit of the witch.

The CD is one of the better compilations I have heard. It mixes things up with uber gothic songs like "Miserere Mei" and Industrial stuff like "Piety." In between the songs they use clips from the film as segues, nice touch. In addition to the music the CD has a video file of Godhead performing live back before they were a houshold name. Highly reccomended and a good deal at this price.

Ann odd assortment of songs and impressions. There is one stand out, the utterely incredibly edifying and majikal Necromancing the Cunning linguist by Gene Loves Jezebel (Who are a Triple X records band I beleieve?). It's truly bewitching and I for one am intrigued. There's something ELSE going on here and I want to learn more. The rest of the CD is insignifigant in this company but not without charm.
